I bought this box the first time over a year ago in staples (for $9.99).I am something of a chef and I've always got recipes floating around as I tend to scribble things down as I create new dishes and I needed somewhere neat, tidy, durable to keep all my little leaflets and this fit the bill.I love that it locks to keep prying hands out of it when I am not looking. It's not a heavy duty padlock mind you but it's enough of a lock old Grandmothers can't get into it or small children and if anyone with good strength tries to open it while I am home it's enough of a lock I'll hear them attempting the B&E before they get it open haha. I love it's a very solid black with metal trim/detailing. It's a great height for me as the little cue cards I use to write recipes down come is all sizes. I used to store this little box right in my kitchen on my 'coffee' shelf without problems. It's not huge it's literally the perfect size to store anywhere without feeling like you are 'tripping' on it.I lost my original box during Hurrican sandy so I've recently re-purchased this. I am not too hot for the price I had to pay for it on amazon (15 bucks as opposed to the 9.99 I originally paid) but what's a gal to do? I wanted the exact same box and I will purchase more in the future for other uses I just adore this box.Pro:-Strong and durable-Easy on the eyes-Lots of space for recipes-Has a lock to secure your items (it's not a padlock though)-Nice metal trim-It's tall to accommodate my tallest cue-cards and any other paper I hace in there-Long enough to slip a pen in there with my recipesCon :Did NOT like paying 15 bucks for it!!!As I said I love this little lock box and will buy more in the future, it fits all my various needs without taking up tons of space. More space and less clutter in my home makes me a VERY happy camper.

I tried the combo lock, prior to buying my 2nd “Key Lock” box & I feel the Key lock is much better. It comes with 2 keys, so 1 can be hidden away and 1 be used all the time. I really like the 5x7x5 size, which holds about 2-3 more bottles then the smaller 4x6 lock box.(I have both sizes) The smaller box, still holds about 6bottles, so if your not storing too much, the smaller one might be ok for you OR if your taking the box on the road a lot, the smaller box may be for you. Either way, I’d be ok transporting either box. I can still hold this box in 1 hand, so it’s not TOO big, but still small enough, to not take up much room where it’s stored. All “Vault” key lock boxes use the same key, so if you have more then 1 box, all the keys work on each of the boxes. So, I guess if someone else had a “vault” box, they could use there key on your box.(just something to be aware of)

Really digging this. Feels solid, even a tad heavy...which I like. I use it for table top gaming to store quick reference material (monsters, treasure tables, character sheet snapshot info, random encounters). The look and feel fits nicely into the atmosphere of gaming.This came with two keys to lock\unlock the flip top. At first I thought the locking mechanism did not work properly. I was trying to turn and met resistance. Everything was fine though. Initially I just didn't want to turn the key hard enough because I thought the key would break. A little more pressure did just fine. No keys were broken.The lock is pretty easy to pick. Like...WoW lockpicking skill of 15 can get into this. Or a DC10 check. This isn't surprising. You probably aren't buying this because you're looking for an amazing quality of lock. If you do need a high quality lock this isn't the one. But you probably knew that.

Sturdy, strong and great quality. Better than expected and perfect for all kinds of storage or recipes cards.
