A sadly dying habit
I've used fountain pens all my life, from school through to pretty much every job I've had. Never been without one. As soon as my kids were old enough to learn not to suck on the end of the pen I bought them one. My son doesn't use his anymore as it's not really convenient or practical for him, but he still has it sitting on his desk I think. My daughter on the other hand won't use any other kind of pen to write with. As she recently won a place at Oxford I decided to treat her to a decent pen, same as I did for my son when he went to university. One thing that is difficult these days is finding a decent ink pen. They are surprisingly scarce, and surprisingly expensive. The cheap and cheerful ones that can be found all over the place are fine in themselves, but they aren't particularly reliable, aren't made to last and have a nasty habit of leaking at the worst possible moment. There is a huge selection of fountain pens from China, some of them excellent, but they are invariably rather exotic and heavily decorated. As a statement piece on a desk they are great, but not so much for regular use.I decided on a wordsworth pen after a lot of searching. They have a good reputation, the pens are manufactured well with clean lines and fit together tightly. They have a reputation for smooth ink flow and little clogging, almost no spotting and leaks only if you throw them at a wall. But, why would you?So, after some indecision I decided on this one as it looked rather elegant and I remember my daughter regularly "borrowing" my pens that look similar. While I've not seen her this Christmas, I understand that she is extremely pleased with the pen and is using it regularly. Allegedly, somewhat to the amazement of her colleagues and peers who are rather shocked that somebody uses such an archaic device. But then, why wouldn't you use one?No complaints means it hasn't failed her yet, is working as expected with no leaks, no splatter and no issues. It also means she likes it, and the comments I'm aware of from the people she has met on her course means she is using it regularly and gives not a d**n what anybody thinks about writing with a fountain pen.I know a lot of people dismiss these pens as too much hassle. But it is my firm belief that they teach the user to write carefully and clearly. They help teach the hand how to hold a pen correctly, and as they don't write in every direction possible, also teach letter forming and accuracy rather than random scribbling, along with patience.Yeah, I know, sounds totally fascist doesn't it? But really, there is nothing as elegant as a fountain pen and nothing that matches a good writing hand. I will buy again from Wordsworth as the pen I bought was extremely attractive, beautifully made and so far at least, extremely reliable.

Best medium priced fountain pen
This is a quality pen for the money. It does not dry up if left unused for a week or 2, the ink flow is good, I love the broad nob, which writes really well, it's very well presented and I am very tempted to buy a second one as a spare. I really love this pen. There is just one area of "personal preference" that I would change:I prefer a thicker/fatter pen for my thicker/fatter fingers; if they ever make one I'll order immediately! Overall, a first rate medium priced fountain pen.

Works so well
It has been a while since I have used a fountain pens as I have had issue with leaks and ink stains. It has now been 2 weeks and this is my default pen. Smooth and easy to use, every note is an event. Will buy another for black ink.

A beautiful, solid pen
A beautiful weighty pen to hold in your hand, however if you are left-handed as I am it is not easy to use. I have a medium nib pen which I can use easily and is beautiful to write with unfortunately the broad nib is not the same for me.

Great Pen
Great Pen! I have been wanting a fountain pen and was looking at Parker when I saw this. The broad nib suits me and I love the way it writes. It comes with converter as well as 3 blue and 3 black cartridges (the ink in that is not water proof and takes a bit to dry to beware). I got a pot of Waterman ink and use the converter and that all works perfectly. For the price this is a great pen! For those who are getting back to using fountain pens after a while, it works very well.

Top class writing instrument for a fraction of the cost of upmarket brands
Absolutely love the quality style and craftsmanship of this lovely broad nib pen. The ink flows seamlessly from ,for me ,the perfect nib size the pen seems perfectly weighted and very comfortable to hold. The price is outstanding and could certainly pass for a much more expensive writing instrument. ✍ Take the opportunity of purchasing this beautiful pen you will not be disappointed. A work of art in itself.

Lovely pen but cheap converter.
This is a really nice pen. It is weighty and sits well in the hand. If I have a criticism, the lid does not sit on the end of the barrel when in use so I have to remember where I left the lid if I wander off with the pen. A major issue was the ink converter, which broke on my first attempt to fill the pen, defeating the object of me choosing this pen in the first place.
