Overall not a bad unit.
Overall I am pleased with this product. I like it's vertical design minimizing used table space. It also expands my capability for 3.0 USB connections, which is a good thing. I didn't really care about the charging capability when I bought this but I have since used it a couple of times already and it is convenient to have another charging spot, particularly one like this that is near my computer. The two 'Smart' labeled ports with the yellow tabs are the only ports that should be used for charging. (One should also use the two short, provided USB to mini-connection cables for charging items only). This feature has worked fine for me to charge my cell phone, etc. when needed. My only small disappointment which will not mean much to most people is the functionality of the on /off switch on the back of this unit. I am utilizing a multi-switched outlet strip to control the power to individual components for this computer. Unfortunately the switch on the back of the EasyAcc does not function as a simple mechanical on/off switch. Once power goes off to this EasyAcc unit in order to power it back on again one needs to physically push the micro switch on the back of the EasyAcc unit before it will turn back on. I would have preferred a power switch on the EasyAcc that was just a mechanical 'on / off' so that one could also control it from a power strip or other source if that is what was preferred. But overall the unit seems to work quite well, so I do recommend it.

Super good customer service
piece of junk. lived for 3-4 hours and then dead.Update : 29 Nov 2014Some context- I am in Singapore and i use some services which allow me to buy things from US and deliver it to Singapore. There are many things which are cheaper in US. I bought this HUB and got delivered to my Singapore address. I do have to bundle all my shopping to get the postal services price right. After my review EasyAcc customer care contacted me. They wanted me to record a video of all the action i took to check if the hub is working or not. it was too much of pain and i thought even if they agree to replace i would not do that because sending it back and getting it delivered again is going to cost me a lot more than the product. may be more than twice the price. I ignore their request. They contacted me again after 6-7 weeks saying they want to send me a replacement. To my surprise they didn't asked me to send the faulty piece back. Fortunately i had another shipment coming in few days and the replacement was delivered in time. I got the new piece and it works fine.I really appreciate the client focus of the customer service. The only reason i kept it 4 star is because i can see few more reviews where the product was spoiled after few days which means there is quality control issues. In the meantime i purchased unitek 10 port hub. That is working fine but the speed i get on EasyAcc is faster than unitek.

For some reason this USB 3.0 Hub is read as Full Speed by Windows Device Manager
I bought the EasyAcc Superspeed USB Hub to power the USB board in my D/A converter and handle its high resolution 24/192 PCM DSD 64 and DSD 128 Audio output. Even though this application only requires a 480 Mbps 'High Speed' USB 2.0 Hub the 5 Gbps EasyAcc Superspeed USB 3.0 Hub was continually recognized by the Windows device manager in my Win 7 x64 desktop computer as a 12 Mbps 'Full Speed' Hub in every one of several configurations that I installed the Superspeed USB 3.0 Hub connected to the USB 2.0 ports of my computer using devices such as a USB 2.0 flash drive, a USB 3.0 flash drive as well as a 2TB USB 3.0 hard disc storage drive. As a result even though this Hub seems to work perfectly fine and delivers the expected transfer speeds of these devices on a USB 2.0 interface I just can't bring myself to trust it for high resolution audio playback (which is the reason I bought it in the first place) because for some reason the device manager always recognizes it as a 12 Mbp Full Speed Hub on my computer. Even though this problem has never been explained to me by the manufacturer I do suspect that it may be possible for this Superspeed USB 3.0 Hub which is backward compatible with USB 2.0 could possibly be recognized by Windows device manager for its 480 Mbps 'High Speed' capability on other computers that use USB 2.0 ports even though unfortunately it isn't recognized as such on my computer even though an inexpensive buss powered 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub that I also have which cost 1/3 as much never fails to be recognized by Windows Device Manager as having High Speed capability when a high speed USB 2.0 or superspeed 3.0 device is installed.

The EasyAcc® USB Hub USB 3.0 Hub 7 Port Charging Station is a very handy addition to my HP Laptop at Home and great for travel.
EasyAcc® Superspeed USB Hub USB 3.0 Hub 7 Port Charging Station Hub with 2 BC 1.2 Smart USB 3.0 Charging Ports and 5 Standard USB 3.0 Ports is proving to be a very handy addition to my HP Laptop at Home and will be very useful and convenient when traveling. So far, I'm using it for a much needed extension of USB 3.0 Ports, as a power source for my Samsung MultiMedia Dock for my Galaxy s4 phone. I have also used it to charge my two external backup battery packs, one being the large capacity Anker® 2nd Gen Astro E3 10000mAh Dual-Port Ultra Compact External Battery Portable USB Charger Power Bank. For Charging the Battery Packs and for power to the Samsung MultiMedia Dock, I use the two provided Specially-made USB Charging Cables Included for Free.PROs: Most everything, works very well as described.CONs.1) The removable Base is a little heavy for Travel -BUT- It could be left at home.2) Strange behavior* when Galaxy s4 is docked, if I use a normal USB Data cable to connect the Samsung MultiMedia Dock. *Note: The s4 beeps every few seconds, switching back and forth from "Charging (AC)" and "Not Charging". This behavior is different than when the s4 is directly connected to the the EasyAcc via a USB data cable. The resolution of the issue is to only connect the Samsung Dock with the special charging cable.
