One word . . . Superior.Ammo is pricy and I was in the market for quality ammo cans for potential long term storage and/or banging around the range. After purchasing a higher priced so-called premium water tight can from another prominent company, I was quickly disappointed with the finish and overall quality of the other company’s product. Purchasing surplus cans seem risky, and besides, what condition would the seals be in after having already been used and abused. So I began a search for a company that was producing new cans that were actually Mil-Spec compliant and relied upon by the military. Enter Marine Defense Packaging and their production facilities.These cans are rock solid. The metal is heavy; this is no flimsy can. All the seams are smooth, firmly sealed and extremely well done. The finish is superb and appears to be durable, we shall see. The lid hinges are solid, well aligned, and the lid detaches and reattaches in a positive and secure fashion. The rubber seal in the lid is thick and just feels like the kind of seal that will last decades. The latch is aligned well, but you will have to exert a bit of pressure to close the latch. However, you will certainly get the impression that once this puppy is closed, your contents are securely sealed within.In short, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and I would definitely recommend these to a friend. Given the reasonable price, with this kind of quality, true Mil-Spec construction, and production by a company that the military relies on, if you are looking for ammo cans this is a no-brainer.UPDATE: It has been a year since I first started storing ammo in these cans. I can honestly say that I am completely satisfied with this product. I now have several of them, some of them I open more frequently than others. The seals and lids continue to function apparently as well as the day they were purchased. All of the cans have held up extremely well and continue to securely store the contents in pristine condition.

Looks to be good quality

These ammo cans are really nice. They are very well built. The locking mechanism securely seals the lid in place. The hinges are solidly attached and properly align the lid so that the rubber seal tightly seals the top shut once closed. The product description states that these ammo cans are water and air tight. I believe that is an accurate description.The paint and finish on these cans is flawless and appears very durable. I have not purposely tried to scratch the finish, however, I haven’t babied these ammo cans either. So far so good.These cans are noticeably heavier than the plastic cans and some of the other metal ammo cans that I have used. However, these cans are much better built than the others. These cans seem much more durable than my other ammo cans and that is confidence inspiring.I bought these ammo cans for trips to the range, ammo storage, and to store some miscellaneous items. This was definitely a very good purchase and I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for ammo cans. I have seen (and owned) cans that have been less money, and some more money, but I have never owned any ammo cans that were better than these.Shipping was very fast and the item exceeded my expectations. I would definitely purchase from this seller again.

All I can say is that these are of excellent quality. No dents or scratches, and the paint job is flawless. I'm very satisfied with the product and will buy again when the need arises. Buying used, surplus sometimes is less expensive, but always a crapshoot until you open the box. This way you are confident of having new gaskets and no leaks right from the beginning.A lot depends on what you are storing in them. For some uses it may not have to be perfect, but for ammo, especially since it is so limited and costly, it's worth a few extra dollars to protect your investment.

I am using this to store LiPo batteries while charging. It does the job. Just make sure to remove the rubber seal if you are using it for this purpose. Otherwise it can be dangerous if there is a LiPo fire inside, and pressure builds up.

If you want a brand new instance of a mil-spec can, then you can stop searching. The material, construction, and finish are all top-notch. When the first can I ordered arrived, I looked it over and immediately ordered more.
