9 Inch Ear Clamp Pliers - Carbon Steel Single Ear Hose Clamp Crimping Tool and Nail Puller

As title says I bought the 8.8 to 10.5 for 3/8 OD tube to 1/4” ID. You cannot use thick wall tube but you should be able to fit All 1/4” ID 3/8” OD tubing sizes.I chose to use these with a Polyethylene tube and it turned out to be ideal and worked well with these clamps. Keep in mind poly-e is very durable for fridge like water line, or air line and cloudy white tube, not clear. It can be formed using a heat gun, or hot bender. Using poly-e for pc or 3d printer water lines still exhibits the colors of the coolant within the lines and with uv additive will glow when using RGB lights. Im glad that i used these clamps in this application. It looks clean and more professional.The photos show how the clamps look and the tool i chose to crimp them with from home depot. They fit in tight spaces and work well for these smaller clamp diameters. I imagine larger clamps would present leverage issues.

Good jobs

Despite overwhelmingly positive reviews, it seems that if one digs deep enough in the one-star reviews, there are plenty of reports of quality control. I couldn't quite believe my eyes. I bought it to replace a CV boot and couldn't quite get the pinch clamp as tight as I wanted to, but I figured I'd try my luck. Of course, the first pinch clamp failed, leading to a premature failure on the new CV joint. I used it for the second time today to replace the joint, and upon applying more pressure to attempt closing the pinch clamp properly, one side literally snapped off at the metal. Thankfully, I was able to make a Home Depot run with a second car to buy a proper one. This may work for light plumbing work, but anything that you really depend on, I would recommend paying for a 'real' one. Unfortunately, I am just outside of the return window, so into the trash it goes.
