Convenient for studio or travel these brush pens have a 100% natural weasel (sable) hair brush head and use a dense black sumi ink cartridge for incredible ink work lettering and drawing. The brush head is 3/8 inch long and comes to a traditional one hair point. Natural hair resiliency is like no other brush experience and is more durable than nylon bristle brushes. The barrel of the pen is hard plastic that has been striped to give the look of stained bamboo. From brush tip to pen base the pen measures 7 inches long. The first image shows what the pen looks like with the cap on and off; the price listed is for one pen (not two).

Serious Performer
I too was thrilled to see a REAL hair brush pen. I have tried just about every synthetic there is and I wouldn't even truly call them a brush. This pen however performs amazingly. I have had the pen about a week now and every time I touch it to paper I am as amazed as I was the first time I used it. I have recently been using real sumi ink brushes and I was seriously skeptical as to whether or not this little pen could actually pull off the same line work required for ink drawing that is usually reserved for traditional sumi brushes. To my surprise, this pen can do all that the traditional brushes can, just on a smaller scale. Also, aside from calligraphy and sumi ink drawing, this pen is wonderful for any artist. I am about to graduate from art school and I really wish I had this pen years ago. With such a versatile drawing and sketching tool conveniently in my pocket I am going to be running through sketchbooks a lot quicker than usual. To address the ink issue.... yes the ink is not a TRUE black but it is pretty close. Color aside, I am a little weary of spending the money for replacement cartridges and I am also a little weary of putting just any ink into this pen as I don't want to ruin it. Either way, I will either suck it up and buy replacement cartridges or put some research time into finding a safe alternative ink to use. Oh and a final note: the size and contouring of the pen is perfect! VERY comfortable, easily fits in a pocket, long enough to have a pretty brush like feel, and aesthetically pleasing. A++ pen!

great quality!!!
Truly easy to handle, better than traditional bamboo brushes, provides a great neat feeling when doing the brush work, which is so crucial, which is all about, basically, to me personally. Great quality the brush part and also the ink... only, the first two hours of inserting the new ink, was a disaster, but the ink has to be truly pushed in, until hearing a clicking sound, the instruction of how to replace a ink, could be more clear. shipping is fast. love this brush and love the choice i made for myself. thanks

Fantastic artist addition
I've looked high and low for a product like this, and this one does not disappoint. I work in black and white, creating my own comic books, and I must say, this tool simply works. Sure, I am old school and still fall back on the tried and true ink and brush, but the Kaimei Brush Pen just feels right while producing the same range of strokes as my Windsor Newtons. I would highly recommend this brush pen to anyone. A bit expensive, but the refills are more than reasonable.

Dried out and useless
I bought this pen a few months ago. At first, I loved its great ink flow and it's steady tip and grip. However, I did not use it for a few weeks, and knowing this, I made sure it was sealed up with the cap on so it wouldn't dry up. However, I tried it again yesterday, and found this it had dried out. The brush now is inactive and does not work. I have done some research, and none of the rehydrating methods worked. I do not recommend this product.

Nice brush. I'm not a fan of it's flow though. Other options have proven more fruitful.

Disappointing
I have many brush pens that I like but am always searching for the perfect one. I wanted to like this one -- it looks almost like real brush and has nice balance. Unfortunately, I found the strokes blurry at the edges. Others have been happy with it. I use it for calligraphy, perhaps it is better for painting. Or it may be better on differents than the ones I use.It is also pricy compared to Kuretaki which is much better.

Favorite Brush Pen. Ever.
I'm a huge fan of brush pens and this has been my favorite for years. Sometimes it'll dry out if you don't use it, but I've been able to drop the brush portion in water for a few hours and bring it back to life. The length of the brush allows for some very very fine lines as well as broad strokes. It has a nice even flow for solid lines, but can also achieve dry brush marks with quicker strokes. It also plays great with markers. I will also refill old cartridges with other types/colors of ink as converters don't fit this pen.
