Lacking In Detail, But Still A Decent Read
This book was good, but not great. I found the stories to be interesting, but lacking in detail. I would have liked to know so much more about several of the locations, but before I knew it, it was on to the next story. I can't put my finger on why, but this book wasn't quite as good as Ms. Rule's previous ghost books. However, the book is short and fairly entertaining... good for a quick weekend read.

My 6th Leslie Rule Book
Enjoyed this latest read as much as the other five. I find the writing style so engaging that it is a true page turner. Once you start, very hard to put down. I do have to admit I did not get this one done in one sitting, not for lack of interest, but to a dentist appointment. My dentist did not appreciate my trying to read with her drill in my mouth. I am waiting for the last book by Leslie to arrive from Amazon. I look forward to the arrival of 'Kill Me Again', a novel instead of a true account but you have to read one, once in a while. I got hooked on true accounts by reading her mother, Ann Rule. I have her 32 true crime novels and compilations. I thought maybe, like mother-like daughter, and I was right. They write in different areas of interest but each have a style and rhythm of their own, both of which make you want to know whats on the next page. Leslie included plenty of photographs in this effort and I think it makes the story so much more interesting to see where she is writing about.

Leslie's Supernatural World
If you love true ghost stories without all the long convoluted theories about why they exist then you will love this book. I love the fact that the people and places in this book could be your next door neighbors and not even realize it because the places and people are so real. When I read this book, I feel as though I am back at the old farmhouse I once lived in and Leslie is talking to me about the spirits that surrouded me there. Instead of being frigtening, the made me feel welcome and Leslie makes me feel welcome into her world of the supernatural. The other thing I liked as she always tried to give us some background on the spirits who haunted the places. She did not leave us wondering who they were if she could avoid it. I like knowing who they were and a little about the spirits I read about. Of course this is not always possible but when it is, it makes me feel more like I want to know the people and spirits involved.I highly recommend this book.

Do not waste your time or money
Dumb uninteresting stories. Horrible. Unfortunately riding the coat tails of her mother but this book is a waste of money and time.

Come For The Ghosts, Stay for The History
This overall, is a very good read. A little light on ghosts though, in my opinion, but where it is thin on ghosts, it is rich in the history of each place the author visited. I've read some of her other books and liked them. More for the history, than the ghosts. Though I'd be lying, if I said that haven't felt a chill go down my spine while reading one of her books.

Not as good as her other books
I didn't exactly dislike this book, but I didn't find it as informative, detailed, or interesting as her other ghost books (I have 3 others by her). For example, I felt the chapter on ghosts and children was filled with numerous short accounts. For me, they weren't that unusual; I'd read similar accounts before. Now, I did like her chapter on haunted hospitals more, but that may be because I tend to be fascinated by abandoned hospitals, such as the former Danvers (NOT discussed in this book). She DOES cover Northern State Hospital, which I believe TAPS went to in the past few years and has several times aired an episode on, but most of her hospitals were new to me, which delighted me. She also covers the movie Rose Red's Thornewood Castle. There are interesting accounts here, but I didn't feel the book was consistently as strong as her other three books.

Very Creepy!
Oh my gosh this book is so creepy! I especially liked the story about the 5 kids who thought their grandfather was clomping up the stairs only to have a man soaking wet swing the door open! If that wasn't scary enough he runs past the terrified children and jumps thru the glass window!! I stayed up and read the whole book in one night, I couldn't put it down. I found it really intriging that many of the cases she investigated were in the Washington state area since that is where I was born and raised. I had no idea we had so many haunted places in Seattle! I really admire all the people she interviewed for having the courage to come forward with their very scary experiences. I also found it very interesting that a lot of the paranormal activity was centered around children and mirrors. I will always be looking in a mirror now to see if anyone is standing behind me!Michelle Rice
