Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Computer Science Student Book

This is a review based on the few utterances of my daughter who is sitting GCSE computer science next year. There is another (much cheaper) revision guide that she was free issued from school. Apparently however it is riddled with errors and incomplete on the curriculum, so simply not up to the job.So my daughter asked for THIS book, which is significantly thicker and more expensive.She reports that it is a MUCH better book than the one she got from school and covers everything she needs.Computer Science GCSE is a new and emerging topic subject. If you are studying the subject then this looks to be the best (and I would say necessary?) book to help you get the grade you deserve.

My son was struggling a lot with his gcse . He had low grades and had trouble understanding things as he is a slow learner. A teacher recommended these revision guides to us and said that they could help him. As a parent i would do anything up to help my child so I bought every single one of these books.Now after nearly a year of using them my son is doing very well on classes. Whenever he is stuck or needs to better understand something he goes through it in the book. It helps him very much and he is much happier and finds classwork and homework a breeze.Now my son is on track to get level sevens and eights which are very high. I can't not recommend this to anyone who wants their child to have a better future.These books are much better than the co ones as they are much more detailed and really gets the student to understand the topics unlike the co which just has brief summaries of everything.

Excellent book. We are using it outside the school system to teach ourselves. The reason we have given it 4 stars rather than 5 is that there are no answers or model solutions given to the Activities. This is a problem if you have no teacher. Other Pearson textbooks which we have used in the same series often have answers to the activites available on line; maybe this is something Pearson could think about providing with time?

Horrible course, horrible book, horrible exam board, students hated it. Good printing quality though...

This is the best GCSE computer science book I have laid eyes on. It is well structured and VERY easy to understand!
