Thank you for your question. For Size 11.5 (US) we would recommend our Big & Tall size (12-16) in the majority of cases. If the person wears 11.5 (US) but is smaller in size (under 165lbs or under 5'9"), we would recommend our Classic (7-11) sizes. Q: Does the heel part ride up to the ankle for smaller feet (size 7)?

Not at all. I wear a size 8 and these socks fit perfectly. They don't ride or move at all throughout the course of the day.

Nonetheless, if you wear above a size 12 shoe and/or have a larger frame (weight above 250lbs or height above 6'4"), we would recommend you go with our "Big & Tall" variation.
