Great shirts but the sizing is very inconsistent
Great shirts but the sizing is very inconsistent. I ordered a 2X and that size was too big, so I ordered in 1X and they were too small. I have other Ayurvastram 1X shirts that fit just right. And the two 1X shirts I ordered were not the same size. The picture shows two 1X shirts and the you can see the size difference most clearly in the different sleeve widths. I have Ayurvastram shirts that I love but it's a hassle to have to order and ship back and not be able to trust the size charts and sizes.

Comfy casual tunic top. Wrinkles easily. All cotton.
This review is for the red top in size XL.I wear a women's 12, and this is a comfortable fit. The blue is a royal blue, not what I would call navy. When I rinsed it in cold water the rinse water was very red, so expect some fading.May 2016--Indigo top in size L I also ordered a size L in the indigo top, which is nice. Better fit for my 39" bust, but just barely. The blue in the indigo top is what I would call Navy, on the greenish side. I wore it before I washed it and LOTS of dye rubbed off on me and my underthings. So, I will wash it by itself and add some vinegar to the rinse water. The shape of these tops is very A-line, flared at the bottom (see photo). A little maternity-ish, but good if you want the extra room. They hit me about mid-thigh. I'm 5'-6".

Nice tunic, doesn't need ironing
June 11, 2017, UPDATE. I now have four of these. and have found the 1x a better fit for my 47" bust, though the 2xs are comfy. Colors are good and arm width consistent in the black with red, (original order), indigo, off white/coral, and ochre on yellow. The all cotton is good even on very warm days, when I thought it would be hotter than it seems to be. It does look like they are gradually replacing this with one in rayon/viscose, that also looks very different. I have found these great for Spring weather, with all types of pants. They are tunic length, but for me that's good in a casual top. All four colors wash well, and don't need ironing. I hang the 1xs to dry, because I don't want shrinkage, but I put the 2xs in the dryer with no problem--and again, no iron has touched them. (Or me, which is the whole point.) Debating buying yet another before they stop offering them.March 1, 2017: I ordered a second one of these because I was getting more wear than I thought I was out of the first. This time I ordered a 1x in the blue; it's definitely a tighter fit around the bust--but, I'm busty--and I debating sending it back, but decided against it. The closer fit is flattering, since the sides come in some--it feels a tad tight but doesn't look it. No 'back fat' showing around bra. I washed in cold, hung to dry, no shrinkage, no ironing. I'm now debating a third, but I can't decide whether I want it to be more flattering or to fit more loosely. I actually think it's flattering in both sizes. Still a winner in my book.I'm pleased with this top. When I first opened the package and saw the fabric, I inwardly groaned, thinking the it would require ironing. I was wrong. I always wash clothes before I wear them, and I ordered what I thought would be up a size ( 2X--my bust is 47") to allow for what is usually smaller sizing in this type of clothing on Amazon, and to leave room for shrinkage. I dried it on my drier's second-hottest setting. It did shrink a little, but it still fits comfortably with room to spare. The seams for the sleeves do drop a bit from my shoulders, but I'm ok with that. I purchased the black with red flowers, and it's a nice, subtle print, pretty much as pictured.

My new favorite top!
I adore my new shirt!I ordered a bit large so it wouldn't be snug. I prefer loose and long. The shirt fits me just the way I like!I love the cotton fabric, the printed design and colors, and all the special details such as front pleats that make this so flattering to wear! The fabric is thin and cool, yet not see-through so I don't need an undershirt on these blistering hot summer days! As weather cools, there is plenty of room to add an underneath layer. It will also be great with a long scarf!I feel nice in this top and get compliments when I wear it! For me, it's ideal!

Authentic and comfortable
This is an authentic Indian kurta in style and fabric. I lived in India for many years and kurtas are still a staple in my wardrobe. I would not describe this as fashionable, more a cut and style worn in conservative areas or perhaps when working around the house. The fabric is created with authentic dyes which requires washing apart and using a colour catcher. Before washing this rubbed off on my undergarments but also on my sofa. It is quite flared around the hips. Although this is achieved with a nice line, if you don't need this extra room it makes it a less youthful look. The neckline is open enough to be flattering while at the same time ensuring no décolletage. I will wear this around the house but would not order again as it isn't particularly fashionable/flattering.

Nice, casual and modest cotton tunics
I like these quite a lot and have now purchased 4 of them. I find they usually run a bit small through the bust. I normally take a US size Large (14 or 14-16). In most of these, however, I have needed the XL (16-18). My "body bust" size is about 40 inches. In the shirts with the single-number size, e.g. 39 or 42, I like best the 42. In the ones with sizes 38-40.5 or 40.5-43 I prefer in the larger size as well. The shoulders are still acceptable, not too broad, and the sleeves are 3/4 anyway, so that they are fine in the larger size as well. The colors in most of these are darker than they appear on Amazon. The first one I bought bled a small amount in the wash but only the first wash or two. I hang-dry them and do NOT need to iron them. With the latest ones that I just purchased, I am taking the precaution of soaking them, one at time, in water with vinegar and salt to make them extra-color-fast. The kurtis with the more classically Indian print with border are lighter weight cotton than the others. For the price, I am so far pleased.
