The Aprea Instruments SX610 pH Pen Tester is featured with reliable measuring performance with a single-button operation in a slim body. A cost-effective choice for your regular pH testing, including hydroponics, aquaculture, water treatment, pools& spas, brewing, and so on. The pH probe is replaceable and suitable for test tube measuring, which is especially suitable for educational use. Easy Auto Calibration (1 point: 7. 00) with buffer recognition and 0 to 60C Auto Temperature Compensation (ATC), 0. 1 pH/1. 0C accuracy with 0 to 14. 0 pH measuring range. Intelligent functions: switch from F to C, automatic power-off, low battery alarm, pH probe invalidation reminder (remind you to replace the probe for better performance). The meter comes with a complete kit of premixed calibration solutions (7. 00), storage solutions (3M KCL), CR2032 lithium batteries all in a portable carrying case. IP57 waterproof and dustproof floats on water, so you dont have to worry if it falls into the water by accident. The meter is CE certified and comes with a 2-YEAR (6 months for the probe). The company designs and manufactures scientific analytical instruments like meters and sensors for pH, conductivity, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen for over 25 years, and meets ISO 9001: 2008 Standards. NOTES: The instrument will NOT give accurate or stable readings for distilled or deionized water's pH testing. This is because distilled and deionized water do not have enough ions present for the electrode to function properly. To measure distilled or deionized waters pH, users need to use a specialized pH electrode. Do NOT store the probe in distilled water or deionized water because they will cause damage to the glass membrane of the pH probe. Only use distilled water for cleaning the pH probe.

Has reliability issues
Had this pen for about 2 years before the batteries went. Replaced batties with the included spare set, turned the thing on and its lost the ability to read anything, same issue as reported by others. The PH value swings wildly from 0 to 14 and the temperatue reads 60. I have read that this means the temerature sensor in the pen has gone and so it cant read PH any more. As i said i had it for two years and yet i feel slightly mifffed cause its been carefully looked after and i paid a little more because i expected a little more quality. I find myself reluctant to replace this pen with an identicle model incase this happens again.

Working again
As with many people here, mine worked well for a while and then stopped calibrating. Customer service required me to post it to Germany at my cost to see of it was damaged or if it was faulty. I left it in cleaning solution for several days and it still wouldn't work, but then gave up on it and after several weeks of being in cleaning solution I tried it again and it was working fine. It's obviously a flaw of this model, but it is a well made item otherwise and if you keep it sitting in cleaner then you will probably be fine.

Calibration doesn't work anymore
Nice design, worked well at first. However, calibration function stopped working after the first calibration. It says to hold down the button for longer than 2 seconds. ‘CAL’ appears but does not calibrate to pH 7 but stays as previous reading.

Would not calibrate
Will not calibrate. I have followed the instructions to the T and have tried several ways by pressing the button for 2 second up to a minute yet it still won't calibrate. I have contacted apera who are trying to help but if all else fails I will be looking for a refund
