The drain spout is located on the bottom of the cooler, right below the cooler portion.

Q: where can i get assembly directions?

just look at the picture and build it.

Q: Is the metal galvanized to prevent rusting?

I have literally used this product twice and it is rusting like crazy already. The lid hinges are cheaply made and have broken as well.
