The other side of Airfix
A new side to that famous brand name, well I am of an age that I remember a lot of these toys and games. This author is an acknowledged expert on Airfix and has several books published on the company, mainly the kits and this is completing the set. However there are places were the text could do with some "headlines" and a clearer definition between stories. That said If you are interested in Airfix at all then you should buy this book, you won't be disappointed

An excellent Reference Book detailing Airfix Toy Diversification.
Think of Airfix and most of us will think of Spitfires and model tanks and ships. For die hard fans and collectors like myself, this book is a fascinating and enlightening read. Although other works on the subject of Airfix touch on their early days producing plastic combs and toys like "Betta Builda", this book explores their extensive range of Toys, Crafts and Games. This is an excellent reference book with lots of pictures and detailed accounts on this area of diversification.

Cracking Read
An amazing insight to a largely forgotten side of Airfix, so long considered the producer of pocket money models this volume shows how much more they gave to us.

Visual presentation and page style/layout could be better (more like other Arthur Ward books on Airfix) but ...
A well written and fascinating insight into the Airfix that was not all Spitfires and Messerschmitt's. Charting the history of the origins and development of the non-kit side of the company, it contains recollections and anecdotes from surviving members of staff who worked in this area of the business. Visual presentation and page style/layout could be better (more like other Arthur Ward books on Airfix) but makes a good read and is the missing piece in the jigsaw picture of this iconic British company.

The other side of Airfix Comments
I am a toy collector and ex toy industry.I found this book very folksy and quite amateur. A few of the facts included were really interesting but the rest was just homely chat about people who worked at Airfix.Probably an excellent book for ex employees of Airfix.
