Waterproof mount
After reading numerous reviews about failure due to water, searched Amazon and found the waterproof box. Installed unit inside and mounted to roof. Hopefully this will extend the life! Note manufacturer states that they improved waterproofing, but I did not want to take a chance.

Not waterproof
Range extender T1 TX-Box Transmitter for Haloview backup camera in not waterproof. As for the Haloview T1 TX-Box Transmitter / Range extender and It needing to be mounted and exposed to the elements but it's not waterproof. At a cost of $100.00 a pop, I suggest y’all go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and invest another $15.00 in a 4”x 4" x 2" waterproof electrical box.

Wasn't the problem I set out to fix but love haloview
Rear camera quit working this was the part I started with. Haloview offers great products

Sealing it for less than $15.
This thing is NOT waterproof, even though designed to live outdoors. Buy a 4x4x2 inch eletrical box at Lowes. And follow photos. Use double sided tape to place on box lid. Drill a couple holes, seal with caulk and Bob's your Uncle.

Transmitter T1 failed twice in two years
I am an Electronics Engineer and I have the credentials to report the following issues with my Haloview RD7 Camera system T1 Transmitter that has failed twice in 2 years, and after several email communications with them, claims the transmitter has been upgraded, yet this new ordered replacement remains as a T1 model not a revised model number as I would expect for an upgraded product. I received a small discount coupon to replace the T1 transmitter. If it does not fail within 18 months, I will again begin supporting Haloview RD7 RV camera products, but not until then".

I bad luck with choosing cameras but customer service is a life saver.
Had a bad experience with alesser known company with a faulty camera out of the box that refused to work. Had to return it the other company wasn't helpful.Bought an RD7 camera kit from haloview to replace the lesser brand one and this one also didnt work but was able to figure out the camera worked, its just the anttenna had a faulty reset button for syncing. Contacted Haloview and let me tell you that the second I contacted them and told them we are sure its the antenna they gave me a coupon to buy a replacement one for just $1 without questions. It came in and the antenna synced with the camera. The RD7 now works amazingly. If you have issues with the camera dont be afraid to contact customer service on their site. Great response from them. Learned my lesson not to get burned by a lesser brand. As for the antenna we tested it. We took the display from the rd7 and connected to a differnt car and drove away from the camper. There were no delays and it was crytal clear until we turned around the block. The thing works better than expected. It has a stupid long range with quick response from that test alone so for the use case of keeping it in your truck while you haul the camper, I think it does the job damn well.

Should not have failed after just two years!
I use it to back up my motorhome and to watch my towed car while driving down the road. The new one "whites out" the video screen at night.I would not recommend this product.

This product is not waterproof
I will start out by saying I like this product, but the range extender does not hold up in rain. I’m on my 4th range extender within a year. I purchased the RD7 mini with range extender, side cameras and an extra front camera. If anyone is looking at purchasing this item you will need to figure out a way to protect the range extender from the weather. I’m looking into mounting the range extender inside a water proof box on top of my RV with sealed holes for the power and antenna.

T1-TX-BOX

Seal it in a weather-proof electrical junction box prior to installation
This transmitter is part of the RD7 haloview rear cam system. The reason I needed to purchase this is because it failed due to water ingress. I opened it up and drained a half an ounce of water that was in contact with the circuitry. Why is this not being corrected by Haloview; they must know this by the sales of this particular part. There also should be a link to this part via the RD7 product page. A 4"x4"x2" from Home Depot weatherproof junction box will do the trick. You just have to drill a couple of holes and ensure that the penetrations are siliconed.Haloview doesn't realize how much people rely on their rear view cams when pulling a trailer through heavy traffic on busy highways. This is a safety issue in which the transportation regulators must be informed of.
