far superior to the other lace puller gadget option
I'd wanted to more permanently repair my 38 year old (!) Rawlings glove, that I've used a ton with my sons for the last couple years. I was sick of coming up with interesting temporary knots and fixes, but also didn't want to pony up $300 or whatever for a comparable quality new glove. So I'd originally bought the OTHER kind of lace puller gadget kit (not this one) along with some lace, at a sporting goods store. That was really pretty tough to use, and this was even on really the easiest stuff...like, just the lacing that joins the fingers to each other, super easy to get at the holes and runs.SO...I'd kind of given up on going further, cause if that was hard, the other areas were gonna be brutal. But then I REALLY started ripping out laces, and all my old knots, important ones, what was actually holding the web on, so now the glove was officially unusable (dangerous, lol). I decided to try this kit, the one I'm reviewing here, the giant 'needle' thing, to PUSH the lacing through and not pull, like the other. THIS IS TREMENDOUSLY EASIER AND MORE EFFECTIVE. I wound up using up all the lace that came with, and then actually ordered more, to replace every bit of lacing on the whole glove. Which was interesting...had to turn the thing inside out to do a portion of it...but really it became this fun project for me and my son. And the result is a glove that feels kinda like new again, cause the leather itself is all still pretty great, and now all the shiny, sharp new laces. You know.Anyway. Buy this product with confidence. The giant needle thingie works amazingly well.

Easy to use for an amateur!
My son is using a nice hand me down leather glove but it was in need of new laces. While my husband and I are both knowledgeable in baseball, neither of us have ever restitched a glove. We decided to give this a shot. It was so much easier than we expected and the instructions it came with were super easy to follow. The leather was easy to work with and seems durable. Happy with this purchase!

Will need at least 2 packages
My first time replacing laces so don’t have much to compare them to. They are a softer leather but had no issues with them breaking. I thought the needle was very strong and held the leather inside great!I laced a 12” glove and bought 2 packages because my daughter wanted different colors. If I hadn’t I would have definitely ran out of leather with just one package.Any glove bigger than 12” I would get 3 packages.

Worked better than I thought
I have used the other style relacing tool for years. This one works much easier. I thought the leather would pull out of the threads at some point in the process but never did. This tool allows you to lace the glove tight as you go, did not have to go back and tighten after I was done. Came with plenty of leather and seemed like less wasted leather with this tool.

Easy to use and more than enough lacing...
I have an old glove (old gloves are the best gloves though) that had its lacing break. After watching a few videos on how to relace it, I selected this item and purchased it. I took a photo of the original lacing and then went to town. The instructions say to create a cut like a T but I just made a cut at an angle about 2-3" long so the lace tapered down. I threaded that in and the needle went through the existing holes in the glove very easily. I had one set of holes that were really tight but the needle made it through there although it did pull off the lacing once it came through. I simple rethreaded it on the needle and kept on going without incident. I only had to relace the fingers at this time and I have more than enough leftover lace to do the same thing several more times.Overall, it seems that you pay a lot for what's in the package but the value of being able to do this for yourself anytime your (or a teammate's) glove breaks is well worth it. It is easy enough to do that you could relace a part of a glove between innings so long as you don't go down 1-2-3I'd say I'd buy it again but I have enough material that I don't see that happening any time soon.

Good kit at a good price
Needed to repair my old glove so I could teach my son how to catch and throw. Purchased this TOFL kit and a Rawlings kit. I prefer the TOFL and here is why... The TOFL kit comes with 2 strips of 72" long leather. The Rawlings comes with one. The TOFL leather is more supple and thicker. about 1/8" or roughly 3mm. The Rawlings is thinner by a little bit and a bit stiffer. I could see using the Rawlings for the heel wrap or the palm lacing, but the TOFL seems better for the fingers. What I can say is that for my Rawlings glove, which is a basic 11.5" Mike Schmidt solid "bellows" pocket unit from the 70's, two 72" strips was not enough to comfortably replace all the lacing on the glove. You can do fingers, palm and just get by with the heel lacing. But not the thumb and pinky and wrist strap. Its the knots that use up a lot of material. So I had to buy another TOFL kit. I like the needle provided by the TOFL kit better than the threading tool provided in the Rawlings kit. The Rawlings threader is ok for lace holes that only get one pass of a lace, but the holes where two laces share...no way. I will say that the needle does lose the lace darn near every time you pull it through, but if you have needle nose pliers handy...no problem. Also could be I'm no good at threading the leather onto the needle. Definitely recommend this kit. Also recommend YouTube videos if you are unsure of what you are about to do...

Any Serious Ballplayer....should consider carrying this in their bag.
Serious ballplayers love their gloves. I do not profess to be the most artsy or handy person, but I have done at least a dozen on the fly repairs of gloves during tournament seasons.Lacing the gloves can be tricky, but taking your time and having the tool in this kit can help you un-weave the mystery and get your kids a2000 back on the field - or at least operational - until you take it to someone you think knows more about gloves can restring the whole thing.

Not enough lace to relace a glove.
Didn’t come with enough lace to finish a single glove.
