A must buy!
I rarely write Amazon reviews, but I felt compelled to do so with the purchase of this anatomy book. I confess that I have been postponing learning anatomy because I have a full-time job, and I am jealous of investing my free time away from doing pencil mileage. But, I am also well aware that without knowing anatomy, my drawings fall flat. After all, anatomy is a fundamental subject for acquiring the skill and ability to properly draw the human figure. As the saying goes, when you are ready to learn, the master appears. Luckily for me, it was Professor Rey Bustos and this amazing book. Professor Bustos’ book is a must, and I am very pleased to have this reference book in my art library. Professor Bustos’ book not only has helped me draw better, but also has awaken an unexpected passion for anatomy. I see what I learn from this book, effortlessly appear in my drawings which motivates me to dig more into this book. I whole heartedly recommend this book to any artist because I am just really grateful that I crossed paths with such a fantastic, inspiring teacher. Thank you Professor Bustos for being so generous in sharing your art and knowledge of anatomy.

Excellent, versatile anatomy for artists
I recently began taking Rey Bustos’ anatomy class through New Masters Academy. Bustos really gets into the bones & muscles, their names, and how to find landmarks on the body in order to ensure that your drawings, even if they vary from your subject in some way, read true. The little things Bustos points out about feet and hands—looking for the arcade when drawing feet, and the angles and arcs of hands—really demystify these difficult body parts. Some of his concepts remind me of the Loomis books, but then Bustos adds SO much information on top of that, yet somehow manages not to be overwhelming.I also appreciate the way he notes differences in style, like his sidebar on the way Egyptians drew feet as compared to the Italians and Greeks, or the sidebar on how Rubens drew baby legs. Bustos brings in paintings and drawings of masters to show how their knowledge of anatomy informed their work. He also shows how once an artist understands anatomy, she or he can really stylize the subject any they want, regardless of what the model actually looks like.Bustos includes just the right amount of technical, science-y information, always with the purpose of explaining the form we see on the surface of the body, or to help the artist better understand how and why the body and limbs move the way they do. I can’t recommend this book (and his class on New Masters Academy) enough. An excellent addition to any artist’s library. Plus, he seems like a really nice person. Thank you, Rey, for writing this book!

Going well with the Complete Human Anatomy for Artist on New Masters Academy
I'm learning "Complete Human Anatomy for Artist" by Rey Bustos on New Masters Academy Website. Thus, by watching the video lessons first and then reading this book, I have had a wonderful time learning human anatomy. So far, his teaching in both the online videos and this book are working so well for me than 3D models and complicated medical anatomy.

This book is an essential treasure for any artist, aspiring or established!
This is really the perfect book for all levels when trying to make sense of human anatomy. It took me back to my days of sitting in Rey’s classes at ArtCenter College of Design watching in awe as he did his blackboard anatomy sketches in the style of the old masters. The same energy and enthusiasm he displayed in class for this subject carries over into the pages of this book.

Comprehensive and Correct!!
I had the pleasure of taking a class with Mr. Bustos and learned a lot. The book is even better than the class and quite a value. Other anatomy for the artist books are full of tiny inaccuracies that can set artists down a false path.

The Ultimate Book for Artists
This is a book that is full of all the information a figure artist requires. Rey Bustos is an instructor who knows anatomy and presents it in a way that is understandable for both the novice and advanced artist.

Interessante e original

Rey human anatomy
I like the overall layout of the text, myraid diagrames .Hawever I would love the professor of the anatomy class would have considered and displayed some planar, sculptural approach in explaining the organic forms of human body rather than medical or contour shapes of the body.Wishing the author Mr.Pro Rey all the best in future. Thanks alot for the making of the book.

Rey's Bustos
Um bom livro sem dúvida para melhor os seus conhecimentos de anatomia! Apenas não gostei de defeito na capa que está um pouco estragada.

Excellent anatomy book for sculptors too
After years of struggling with anatomy while working as a 2D animator I recently began sculpting and discovered Rey's anatomy courses on New Master Academy and then purchased this book. I really cannot praise this book enough, I now have a total love of anatomy and it's starting to show in my work. The way this book is set out and the muscle groups explained just makes it all click in my head...I cannot thank you enough for my new found obsession!
