Excellent results!
I just received the new Hypertech 2100 Max Energy today 4/5/18 from Amazon for my 2012 Silverado 1500 LT Ext Cab 5.3L V8 . The truck runs good stock however I felt like the truck was sluggish, the AFM is all but useless IMO if your looking at the hypertech or other programmers you know the feeling. I have an 2004.5 Chevy 2500HD Duramax Gen2 with a hypertech tune for towing and its like a freight train, I've had the tune on level 3 (100hp+ 200ft-lbs+) bumps it to 430hp and 800ft+, installed for over 160k no issues towing 16k+ now with a total of 260k+ on the odo it still pulls like a freight train tried and true and get 19.8mpg empty 13mpg loaded. I decided the 1500 needed to be woken up for the first time from its lethargic slumber from the factory tune. First thing you'll need to do is install Hypertech's Tuner Update software on a PC then update the new Programmer with the latest firmware for the best features and results, it took all of 15 minutes for me. Out of the box the Hypertech mostly like only had base firmware as it updates 980+ files. I then installed a custome test tune on the 1500 using the regular fuel tune option, bumped the shift points +300 for 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 and 4-5 gear left 5-6 stock that put the shift points in the good usable torque range of the motor. I also set the shift firmness to +25%, Disabled AMF set RPMs to 5800 RPMs. Then took it for a test run and WOW exception results from stock, it has better throttle response, it accelerates faster and is much easier to maintain speed on hilly terrain without it constantly wondering thru gears, it now actually holds gears and speed while climbing hills as you roll into the throttle. I live in Northern New England about 2000 -3000 ft above sea level and often head to southern part of the state where its 100 - 500ft above sea level. I've been averaging 15.5 - 16.5 MPG hand calculated. I just tuned the truck today so I dont have MPG numbers for those interested, I'm thinking there will be some improvement however I didn't buy a full size truck expecting great MPG its not a prius. Im very happy with the results of past and present hypertech, they make an excellent product they are willing to stand by so give it a try.

SHUT OFF V4 MODE! NO MORE SHAKES
2009 Silverado 160K + miles, original owner.......Suggested by my mechanic who gave me the advice on selecting the programmer. It was simple and easy. I shut off the V4 mode completely (AFM). No more shakes at cruise speeds or when slowing down (which I thought was the transmission going from 2nd to 1st or 3rd to 2nd). Also set it to the correct tire size (31.5) and the speedometer is matching the GPS and my fuel mileage is up 1.5mpg! hope to get another 160k out of it!

Went from 16 to 18 mpg
Installed 87 octane tune on 2013 silverado with 5.3 and calibrated for larger tires. Gained 2 mpg between tune and accuracy of speedometer. New software was easy to install, though I must say I got sketched out in the middle. Truck warned me that my battery was running low (cranks fine, so I don't know if it was real or a part of the process), and it did take a few minutes for it to finish flashing my onboard computer, during which time I was on pins and needles worried about bricking my truck. Everything turned out okay, though. Seems faster merging on to the interstate, but I reckon that could just be placebo effect.

works pretty well
over I am pleased with product, did not give much noticeable power but had other good features like speedometer correction for tire size and we gained about 2 MPG so not to bad.

Works in California
Once again, California has changed the rules regarding smog. Beginning 1/20 a vehicle is plugged directly into the state computer in order to pass smog. Tuned diesel engines must be in original configuration. I had an older model Hypertech (2007) which did not comply with CARB. I purchased this model, retuned the vehicle, provided the accompanying CARB COMPLIACE NUMBER to smog technician and passed with no problem.

Easy to use but follow the instructions
Worked well for my 2012 2500HD Silverado as I was only looking to calibrate my speedometer when I went up 3 tire sizes on my 20" stock wheels. As a bonus, I programmed hard shifts at WOT, set tire pressure alarms 5 PSI lower, and set the regular gas performance tune. Easy to use but follow the instructions!!

but it feels and sounds nice when combined with the Flowmaster 44 and Airaid intake ...
Lovin' it so far. Ran top speed up to 118, premium tune, +300rpm on rev limiter, and Firm shifting. It doesn't make my '07 Sub a rocket at all, but it feels and sounds nice when combined with the Flowmaster 44 and Airaid intake tube. Paying for premium at the pump is a small price to pay compared to the cost of a new Suburban with more gears in the transmission.

Must Have
This is a must have for a 2015 Silverado 1500 5.3L. Allows you to control you tranny shifts and many other options. It also allows to correct your speedometer when you get bigger tires.
