Cute
This is cute, but a little bit long for young children. Nice illustrations.

A great message!
This book always sells out! We had to buy it a year later after hearing about it! It has an amazing message of how God makes us from the inside out, calls us his and puts his light in our hearts. We put it away every year and bring it back out in October so the message will be special to hear again year after year!

Great new version of a fabulous fall story
I love Liz Curtis Higgs and her writing. Her Christian Historical Fiction novels were my introduction to the genre which for me today is a passion. I was delighted to discover she has also written a handful of children's novels in parable form with the gospel as the central message. I have an original copy of The Pumpkin Patch Parable from a few years ago, but when I heard that it was being republished as a giant board book, I was ecstatic! After getting my hands on this giant board book, I'm absolutely delighted. Tommy Nelson has a great product in this book. Perfect for every family and the fall season. Finally we have a book to share with our children that reflects the same values that are important to us. As it says in a note from the author on the first page, "This book is NOT a celebration of Halloween... no ghosts, goblins, demons, witches, or monsters here!"What this book is, is a beautiful parable format using the image of a pumpkin to share the gospel with our kids. With an applicable verse on each page bringing the story and the message in the bible alive this book is creative and meaningful. The size is great, and AppleBlossom even as a toddler is excited to be able to touch the pages and flip them herself and I rest easy without the fear of her tearing the pages. I love it!

Actual FALL book!
So wholesome! No scary Halloween characters for kiddos that don’t enjoy that. Can span a wide range of ages as deep into the scripture as you want to go. Each 1-2 pages has a very pertinent scripture to go with it. 1st grader loved it and 2yr old. Fantastic job to the author!

Good book
Would have liked more in the story about Jesus than just scripture references

Good book
Good book but it does make the pumpkin into a jack o lantern if that bothers you.

It's good to be "a Reader".
I facilitate a Bible study group, we call ourselves the bad girls of the Bible a good Shepherd Parish. A couple of the ladies bring their grandchildren with them on a night when there's no other babysitter, so we delight in a few young people in our group. For Halloween 2015 I bought a few of these books for these 123-year-olds. I am happy to report that each of them love their new books and asks the grandmothers to read the books to them over and over again. Our group enjoys Liz Curtis-Higgs book studies very much and we have read and discussed at least seven or eight of her books at this point and look forward to many more coming from Liz.

A lovely children's story that can be read with or without the Bible passages.
A lovely story to use as an alternative to the darkness of Halloween. One or two parts refer to American lifestyle or tradition but the Christian sentiment is still the same in the U.K.
