Thanks to the recommendation from the mealime app I purchased this spatula. (I also highly recommend app) The spatula has just the right amount of snap for most foods and a sharp enough edge to get under things. I don't even use my other spatulas anymore. Durability seems top notch.

I have several frying pans here at home that have a silicone coating inside. Nothing sticks to them - not even fried eggs, but the plastic turner I have been using is leaving scratches in the bottom of the pans and I do not like that. So, I looked for a turner that had a silicone cover to protect my pans.I looked at all the ones available on Amazon and this looked to be the most sturdy - so I picked this one and picked blue. It was interesting that the price changes quite a bit depending on the color you pick even though they all appear to be the same, just a different color to choose from.I used it this morning for fried potatoes and fried eggs. Great product and does the job without scratching my skillets. What I like about this particular turner is that it is made of stainless steel which makes it durable. The handle is stainless steel and that extends down to the turner part which appears to be steel with a silicone coating. The silicone coating appears to be plenty thick down at the turner part and then the end of the turner - about the last quarter inch - appears to be all silicone so it is more flexible and tapers off to a nice point so it digs under eggs/etc easily. So, the whole turner is pretty rigid except for the last quarter inch which is silicone only. Because it is a short piece, it holds its rigidity pretty well while you are using it. It definitely is not a "flopper" and it should turn anything you have in your skillet - even large pieces of meat, without a problem. This turner looks like it will last for a long time and it is sturdy enough for just about any job in the kitchen I can think of. I like it and the price was not outrageous either.

Let me gladly take the opportunity to kick off the reviews for this fine product. When I finally threw out my plastic utensils I had difficulty finding a turner that I liked and tried a few. They all seemed to come up short. Last week in scrolling through Amazon I came upon the Tovolo turner and liking the  Tovolo 14-inch Blue Silicone Solid Spoon  so much thought I would give this one a shot.The silicone head on this has a nice size- 3 1/4" wide and 4" in length, acutally 4 1/2" to where the head meets the handle. The head seems thick and very substantial, with just enough of a tapered edge to easily slide under eggs, pancakes or whatever you want to turn. I like the edge of this better than a couple of the more flexibile turners I've used. This turner will get into a smaller fry pan and work well for any number of uses. Like the Tovolo spoon I find it a very well designed product that should last for a long time with the heat resistence to 600 and the solid stainless steel handle. I highly recommend this and think people who try it will like it.Update: I finally successfully flipped an omelet with this and also got it out of the pan. The jumbo turner I purchased in comparison just seemed awkward. Omelets will put any turner to the test regular or wide but I can say from experience now this Tovolo turner maneuvers better in an omelet pan than any I have ever used whether you get a successful flip with it or not. This took incredibly long to arrive (3 weeks) but the quality is good, Tovolo is a good brand for silicone utensils, I own several.
