This weighted football blanket was ordered for a student. He actually picked it out. It has worked wonders keeping him still while he is doing his school work. Although it keeps him seated in his chair, it doesn’t keep him from rocking back and forth. I need something for his shoulders. He loves the football blanket and feels special to hold it in his lap. I feel the blanket does the job very well that it is intended to do.

This mat worked great for my 8 year old son! He places it across his lap in school and it helps him sit still. It also relieves his anxiety a bit. Plus it looks “cool” so he is happy having it.

Quite large, weight is good. Definitely works well to keep my son more still while sitting at his desk. But with how large it is it has poor weight distribution and therefore falls off his lap quite easily if he's shifting.

We use this lap blanket at school to help our son regulate on difficult days. It is the perfect size for his lap and gives that extra comfort of home in the school environment. He thinks it is cool since it is in the shape of a football!

I ordered three of these sports-themed weighted lap blankets:- football- basketball- baseballFOOTBALL:The exterior is soft and as expected. Because of its oblong shape, it drapes well over my thighs but comes up almost short on my lap. Of course, I am not the target audience; just something to be aware of. Oddly, 5 pounds does not feel too heavy. It's far more comfortable to me than weighted blankets.The cover is washable. The zipper is around 7 inches long, providing ample room to remove the interior. The interior is connected to the inside cover (with ribbon and little bows) in 3 places so that it won't slip out of place. The ability to wash the cover is a real plus.BASKETBALL:The exterior is soft and as expected. It covers my adult lap from my waist past my knees and goes all the way over my thighs. Oddly, 5 pounds does not feel too heavy. It's far more comfortable to me than weighted blankets.The cover is washable, but that is going to be an adventure. The interior container is tied (with ribbon and little bows) all around to the inside of the cover so that it won't slip out of place. Also, the zippered hole to remove it is only about 4 inches long. I'm not going to try removing the interior at this time, but I can tell you that this is going to be a minor ordeal. While the baseball blanket is similar to the basketball blanket, the odor gives me pause.Now if only they would make a unicorn weighted lap blanket!

It doesn't feel like 5lb, maybe because it doesn't pull down like a blanket would on my lap. It's comfortable, soft. The best part is there is a zipper to take cover off the wash it, the opening is pretty good size to easily take the weighted inside out. This is great for any sport fan.

This blanket is a bit different than the others we have. The top cover is removable and washable, and the inside is filled with sand so it moves from side to side and sometimes redistributes weight unevenly, especially if I want to put it on the shoulders or other small surfaces instead of lap. It's a good lap blanket, slightly different from what I need but still usable. Kids like the football shape and the soft material.
