Amazing!
New to the nursing world, I wasn’t sure which stethoscope to purchase. Upon finding a like new one here for $155, I couldn’t pass up snagging the better of my two options as far as a littmann goes. May seem excessive when the classic III sounds just as good, but I’m planning on finding a job with pediatrics and figured that the bigger bell and double barrel tube would help with that. So, I took the plunge and bought what some people may call the “overkill” stethoscope for approximately the same price. I’m not planning on purchasing another for a long time, and this one may last forever, and that’s perfectly perfect to me!

A Great Stethoscope and a Warning on Choosing a Color
I decided to upgrade from my Littmann Classic S.E. II and when this came out it seemed like perfect timing. The difference between the two is drastic, as it should be for the cost difference, and I could not be happier with it when it comes to performance. I am confident I will not have to replace (or upgrade) this one for a long time, barring it doesn't grow legs and walk off (a BIG reason I picked a color other than black). My only advice, and if you have bought a non-black Littmann you can attest to this, is that the color is slightly misleading when looking online VS. in person. Luckily, in a hospital setting, you tend to see the rainbow of stethoscope colors and can generally get a good idea of how the color will turn out; but if this is your first one, be mindful that the color is typically more subdued/duller than what the stock images show. There is also a general lack of diversity in color choices in comparison to other models, and I can see where that is going to deter people who are used to having more options. Petty? Meh. You're the one that has to look at it so you might as well be happy with how it looks.

My old Cardio III was better
The Cardio IV is thicker and somehow weighted differently, so if you’re like me and carry your stethoscope around your neck, you can’t do it with this one.I also think I could hear slightly better with my old one.

Love this
I love my littman 4. I can hear so much better than I could with the 2nd edition. I work in pediatrics and this is a must have. I recommend this stethoscope to every new nurse/emt/healthcare professional.
