We just got this fan installed yesterday and really love it. For the price, it's very nice looking and well made. We got it to replace a 20 year old fan that had gotten wobbly and noisy. What a difference. This thing is rock solid and doesn't make a sound. All you hear is air moving around! It moves a sufficient amount of air for our living room. The fan feels high quality and we hope and expect it to last many years.It doesn't put out a lot of light, but we don't sit in that room at night much anyway. It would be fine for just relaxing, but not enough to read by. I'm considering replacing with LED candelabra bulbs when the ones that came with it burn out.The guy we got to do the install commented that Hunter fans are always very easy to install and he appeared to have no issues.It did release a strong chemically odor after it had been running for a few minutes on high the first time we used it. This caused some concern, but we opened the windows and let it run for a few hours. Today we turned it on and the odor has disappeared. No idea what that was about.Overall, this ceiling fan appears to be a very good value. If we have any issues, I'll come back and update this review.

This is a classic looking fan. It is quiet. I bought the extender piece to lower the unit from the ceiling. I have 9 foot ceilings and the standard mounting was too close to the ceiling. At the lower height it moves the air better and I can reach the pull chains easily to change the fan speed or operate the light fixture. I did not want another remote control fan.
