Some will recognize the headline, an often spoken instruction from an old time investigator who wanted to solve the crime quickly. The author of this book takes a similar stance. For too many the focus has become on defending positions or or turning to politics. This book examines the facts in a calm and rational way, using data from incidents starting with Columbine. While not overplayed, the author’s agenda is to keep his and our children safe. That’s different than defending a position.I read it in one sitting. The facts altered my thinking on at least one point. I enjoyed the reasonableness throughout and that I finished it feeling empowered and, in a sense, safer.There are very few people who would NOT benefit from reading this. It creates perspective entices thinking. I work with kids and rehearse often what I would do... reading this book was more helpful than I expected... in some ways encouraging.One criticism—the pull quotes and captions are a bit overdone, creating some repetition. But the layout and graphics are visually pleasing, a difficult achievement on the Kindle version.Please read this book. It may help you and us save lives.

This book has tons of actual data. It will peel the scales from your eyes that the media has placed on you.

A fairly easy read but worthwhile. As horrifying as mass (school} shootings have become, no actions to prevent them have been taken to date. Martin presents convincing evidence that the typical gun control suggestions would not have prevented any of the headline shootings we are familiar with. He also asks the question very boldly why we, as the public, haven't demanded action that would work. We have taken significant protective measures with airports and airlines. We have not taken action to combat the mass shooter. Martin offers us a workable option. The author includes tables and charts with data on the mass shootings since Columbine. Information we all should have.

Very well written using facts backed by research and statistics and get understandable. The steps advocated are doable and work, follow and live use other methods and continue the trend. Read, think then apply! It could save your life or the lives of people you love.

Michael Martin's writing style is one that you can easily understand with great illustrations. I highly recommend his concealed carry guides and self defense guides. Being a Firearms instructor and a concealed carry instructor I find Mike Martin's books great for those new to concealed carry or self-defense.

I was not expecting my thoughts on gun control to change but this is very well thought out and very compelling. Mr Martin provides data that brings the problems into sharp focus and provides answers I was not even aware existed. I am very glad I took the time to read this book.

Great read especially for those who think gun bans of any type will stop mass shootings. Only when we realize that armed citizens are not the threat will this end. Until then we can count on more frequency and more killed and wounded.
