Beaquicy STV-90 Dryer Duct Connector - Snap to Vent 90 Elbow - Indoor Hook-up Dryer Vent Kit

I had previously bought another brand, but it wasn't what I expected. I returned it.I found that my dryer, being quite old, had some rust damage to the exhaust connection that had me concerned about being able to connect it to the exhaust hose. When I received this unit, I realized there were no instructions with it. The transparent teflon seal shown was a lot more bent out of shape than in the picture above. I finally decided to use the unit, and found that one photo made it plain how the hose connected to the elbow, and the insert provided ensured it was secure and that no hose clamp was needed. As for the teflon insert, it stretched enough to seal the rusted end of the exhaust port, which I stretched it around tightly.It would have been much easier to have had some photo instructions, instead of having to go to the Amazon page to figure out how to use it. But despite the extra work, I am very satisfied with the installation, and the Duct Connector.

I was looking for a way to reduce the bulky mess of contorted metal tubing behind my dryer that was keeping the dryer about 15 inches away from the rear wall. I considered the low clearance “periscope” style connection but wasn’t sure it would stand up to repeated movement for periodic vacuuming under the dryer. Also I wasn’t sure how I would simultaneously connect the periscope to the dryer and the wall vent. Then I saw a video ad for the STV-90. I bought two (one for the dryer and one for the wall vent) and re-used my existing metal tubing to make easy and secure connections to the wall vent and the dryer. The metal tubing makes a simple upside-down “U” to connect the two STV-90s. The STV-90’s are admittedly thicker than the “periscope-style” connector, but I have no problem moving the dryer as the flexible hose keeps a tight connection. Ultimately my dryer is 7-8 inches from the wall, so I gained about half the previously “lost space” behind the dryer. The periscope might have saved even more space, but I’m happy to be able to freely move my dryer without worrying about losing the connection.

I have to say this item is not too user friendly which is odd because there are only 3 pieces to it. It does not lock into place as stated, it basically has to be pushed up against a wall to hold it into place which was not suitable for my location. Had this been mentioned in reviews or the description I may not have even ordered the item. Even though this did not work out for us the item is made of a more than durable white PVC type material and appears to function just as it should.

Good quality. BUT, no directions to install

If you watch the video in the listing, it shows exactly how this installs. I was pleasantly surprised that this was accurate. I actually used two - one attached to the dryer and one to the exit duct on the wall. It only took a few minutes to hook up, and works great.

It is a clever design. No instructions came with the product although YouTube instructions are available. The attachment to the flexible discharge hose would not hold without a compression band (not supplied). Other than that the installation was fairly simple and works in my application. I would add that the dryer vent end is held in place by a wall so I did not test whether the silicone gromet creates enough friction to hold on to the drier without the force of the dryer against the wall to prevent the force of the air from dislodging it.
