Lovely but...
I’m going to be deducting a star for books produced with low contrast print. No matter how charming the book may be, if it’s difficult to read the joy of it is dramatically reduced. This book offers photos of homes and rooms which accentuate the personalities of the owners. The photos delight. The written histories are mostly fascinating, but it requires the x-ray vision of a super hero to read small rust color print on a beige page. What are book designers thinking? And why do authors allow it?

Another great book by LW
Leslie’s latest is a beauty. I admire her work as a photographer, writer and a curator. Her research and selection of homes is fantastic. Each of her three books is filled with wonderous, inspiring homes and workspaces, many of which I didn’t know of before. Her books give you a real sense of what the places are like and a feeling for the lives lived therein.
