Casablanca 99200 Perma-Lock 12-Inch Cottage White Downrod

I was in the market for a ceiling fan with angle mounting capability to hang from my angled exposed beam ceilings. After weeks of comparison shopping the Prominence Enoki fan seemed like the best fit for my needs and wants. It said it had “Dual-Mount Hanging Options”, but I didn’t realize until after I ordered that the angle mount option says you need to purchase a longer downrod.So I searched for a longer downrod and this was the cheapest option. First impressions were it felt high quality, heavy duty and well machined. The color “cottage white” is just as it the photo, an off white with a greyish green undertone and a smooth matte finish. I appreciated the plastic shrink wrapping that protected the paint finish in transit. It fits universally to any standard ceiling fan.Unfortunately, my handyman didn’t use the longer downrod, instead opting for the shorter one that was included with the fan. For some reason, he improvised a somewhat questionable setup. When I questioned his decision, he simply said that the shorter downrod was unnecessary with no further explanation. Upon skimming through the manual (which I don’t believe my handyman even looked at), it seems that there might be some additional mounting hardware required, which wasn't clearly stated on the product page of my fan.While I am uncertain whether the issue was solely the fault of my handyman or if additional components were necessary for proper angle mounting, I still recommend this product with the caveat that it is essential to thoroughly communicate with your handyman or installer to ensure that this down rod is all you need for a successful angle mount with your specific fan and ceiling combo.

This downrod totally does the one thing it is supposed to do, and I appreciate that. Five stars.They didn't have "snow white" to match my fan, so I bought "cottage white" instead. I was worried it would look odd having a different shade for the downrod, but it looks just fine.

I bought this to go with a cottage white Casablanca Ainsworth fan I had already purchased. The color is not even close to the fan color as this more of a gray tint, while the fan is more of an antique white. I had to buy some spray paint to get it close to the fan color. A universal downrod would have been half the price and served the same purpose. Casablanca should ensure it is the right color if they put their name on it. I sure hope it is threaded properly, but I won’t know that until the paint dries.

Mine was not Casablanca, but I installed it. The paint color was not a match to the Casablanca nice stealth fan I bought. I was going to give it 2-stars, but it works.. Just why not say "compatible" so we know!!

This fan is beautiful and exactly what I needed for my bathroom. It would go great anywhere
