KendaK193 Kwest Tire - 700c x 40, Black/Black Skinwall

I would have never believed it but the type of tire makes a difference. When the Mrs. and I bought new bikes, for the money we spent we would have thought it shouldn't be a chore to pedal. After renting bikes while on vacation that were easy to pedal we assumed it should be just the same.After talking with friends and dealers the consensus was, change the tires. The dealer we bought the bikes from wanted extra to changed the tires but I wanted to do the research myself.When I found these tires, they were the exact pattern of the bikes we rented on vacation. I bought 4 and put them on our bikes. What a difference in the ride. No street drag and they even ran well on crushed limestone too.For street riders or riders who ride paved trails, I recommend these tires.

Great replacement for a kenda tire with a bunch of miles on it. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because the Kenda tire it is replacing had a kevlar liner. This one merely states that "certain" tires have a "puncture resistant" liner. ?!?!? Alrighty then. I guess we'll see if it holds up as well as the old one. I have no idea exactly how many miles I put on the old one, but I know it was ALOT. Without one single flat. Zero. My wife has the same bike with the same tire except all they are protected with is that stupid green slime stuff. She has had numerous punctures where I have not. I'm only replacing the tire because the side wall is beginning to crumble with the kevlar filaments poking out. (And a little bald) No idea if this tire is as good as the old, we'll just have to see how it goes with the new one. It sure looks good though.

Very fast and durable tire. I purchased this to replace a Kenda Happy Medium that was always giving me flats - despite the fact that I used anti-thorn tubes and tire liners (Mr Tuffy). I went through a few other tires that were more durable, but dramatically slowed me down (Kourier with K Shield), but this one is the best. I still use the tire liners, but switched back to regular tubes - so far so good. Good grip on street and gravely roads.

I ordered these tires to replace stock tires on my GT WINDSTREAM. whole different ride. I would like to say I put 5000 miles on old ones but not the case the side walls were getting weather checked. I never liked the old ones to much drag. these tires mounted easy and they are very smooth with low drag it rides like a whole different bike. very happy with these and they are reasonably priced

Good tires. Great price.

I really liked the way these tires rode for the first year, however shortly after a year (and just past the warranty period) they started forming severe bubbles in the tread and the front tire failed by completely separating under the tread where it had started bubbling the worst (see attached image). They only had about 500 miles on them, and enough tread left that they should have lasted much, much longer. I always kept them properly inflated and there's no reasons for this failure other than either manufacturing defect or poor engineering. Disappointing.

I have a gravel bike that was fitted with Kenda Happy Medium 700 x 40 tyres. The rear one had worn down and I couldn't source a replacement anywhere. Gave this tyre a try and although it is not a gravel tyre it is a reasonable alternative at a very good price.

For the price, perfectly competent set of tyres for commuting in comfort.
