More upscale alternative for Pilot Acro hybrid ink
The Pilot Metropolitan ballpoint is a more upscale alternative to plastic Pilot Acroball pens for using refills with Acro hybrid ink, which is my favorite ballpoint ink. Classic cigar shaped pen with a good heft. Pilot makes refills for this pen in either a Medium point (the 1.0 mm "Dr. Grip Center of Gravity" or BRFN-10M refill that ships with the pen), or a Fine point (the 0.7 mm BRFN-10F). Unless Pilot decides to start offering Acro ink in a standard Parker G2-size refill, as far as I know this pen is virtually the only reasonably-priced metal-body pen that is designed to take Acro ink refills.

Pilot Metropolitan: High Value, Low Price
I generally prefer Parker ballpoint pens with broad-point refills; however, this Pilot Metropolitan has made the grade for me. The feel is pretty good: it has substance, but not as weighty as a similarly designed MontBlanc Meisterstuck, which I found too heavy and oddly balanced, toward the cap, for long-term writing. The Pilot Metropolitan is just a bit shorter, a plus in my book, than the MontBlanc. Pilot's ink is excellent. The refill supplied with the pen dries quickly and does not smear. This is an excellent ballpoint pen in form and function.Pilot has a good quality pen at an exceptional value. I agree with the many other reviewers who have had the same to say about this high-value, twist-operated, ballpoint pen. I'll buy one or two more--the pen is that good and too reasonably priced to overlook keeping a backup or two on hand.

Good quality pen for a good price
I really like how solid this pen is. The outer body is metal and feels great in the hand. I have the medium nib and since it's japanese it can be compared to european fine nib. The only downside is the capacity of the squeeze converter, I must refill more often than thought; but it can still last long anyway.

Great pen, good price.
A few of the reviews on here (including some of the attached photos from other reviewers) would have you believe that this has a super fine point that writes in a dry scratchy manner. That has not been my experience at all. It writes smoothly with a good ink flow and line thickness. I would compare it to a fine point sharpie pen in that regard. The build quality is quite nice for the price. I am overall very happy with the purchase.I did notice that I had to "prime" the pen for a bit at first. Writing for a few minutes after putting the first ink cartridge in before I got a smooth flow of consistent ink and line thickness. I assume that is to be expected on a factory dry pen.

Me encanta
Tiene un trazo muy fluido, y una calidad de materiales que creo es muy correcta teniendo en cuenta su precio.Por ponerle un pero me hubiera gustado que pesara un poco menos en la mano, pero este es un tema de gustos.
