My Big Boy Bed: A Pirate Pete book

Nice idea, but be prepared for ructions if you’re planning a regular bed rather than a themed one!
I think this is a useful book for getting children used to the idea of moving from the familiar security of a cot to sleeping in a proper bed, which can be a daunting experience for many. Pirate Pete is a likable character, and children get to accompany him on his move, from choosing his new bed and duvet cover, to helping his mum and dad dismantle the cot and put together his chosen bed. The illustrations are nice and colourful, and the interactive ‘cheer’ button adds extra interest and fun.My only criticism of this book is the selection of beds presented, which caused a bit of a rumpus in our house. We had already bought bunk beds (not featured!), and our little guy was not well pleased that he couldn’t have a pirate bed or one that looked like a car! I think the inclusion of something more standard would have wider appeal. Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful. Useful
We like the pirate Pete series. They provide a low key way of introducing new ideas: we have previously used the new baby, going to nursery and potty ones. They seem to help “plant the seed” in our 2 year old son’s head. Not sure for definite if they help but a fairly cheap and easy option to help introduce something potentially scary for the little guy

Nice book. Good quality
Good book but we already had a bed for lb so he couldn't choose which one he wanted. He likes pressing the button.

Exciting transition!
My 2yr old grandson loved this book, it hasn't happened yet, but I hope the transition to a "big boy bed" will made more exciting and not such a shock when he finds himself in a much larger bed.

Great book for toddler
The book came just in time for our toddlers “big boy bed”. Pirate Pete books are a staple of the bedtime routine and little one loves the fact that he can press a button that makes noise.
