I received my package earlier than expected from Amazon & the package arrived in good condition.I have purchase these chopping boards previously and they are my favourite. I love the design , shape and I truly enjoy using them.

I had wanted these for ages because they look so easy and functional and I could throw away my ugly, warn, chopping boards which were taking up space. They are a little on the pricey side when compared to a £4 chopping board you can by at most supermarkets so I was expecting that they would be super durable. However, after literally the first use, you can see the 'cut' lines from the knife and I can tell after a while, the surface is going to be really cut and scratched and ugly (you know how they get...). I assumed that the material they were made out of would prevent this happening but unfortunately not. So BEWARNED the chopping board will NOT keep the nice smooth surface. I wish I had this knowledge before I purchased them (so that I could save my money!) Hope this helps others.

I'm not a master chef and I don't really know anything about the best kitchen products etc (I've heard of Le Creuset, but that's about it!) so I based my purchase on reading reviews and what it looked like in the pictures.I like the different coloured boards--I wanted that as we previously only had two similar looking wooden boards.Unfortunately, though, the promo pics really glam it up as in reality, it's quite clear from afar that the outer case is plastic. It doesn't feel sturdy and flexes. I think if I dropped it on the hard floor, it would shatter. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look awful, but it doesn't look like it's going to last ten years or more and it doesn't reflect the kind of sturdy, metal look in the promo pics, so I knock a star off for that.More importantly though, after just a week, these looked like a total mess. It says in the ad that these are some special, non-marking, tough wearing chopping boards but there is honestly zero difference between these and what you can get from the pound shop. I know this for a fact as I used to work in a sandwich shop and instead of going through the labours of constantly maintaining chopping boards to a food hygiene level, the owner would chuck the boards out every month and get new ones.I don't know what I expected; our knives are kept very sharp, but the first time I cut bread on it, I left huge gashes in the surface and that just really narked me off! With wooden boards, I think they wear nicer and have a bit more character, but these look like disposable trash to me. Good job they're in a nice container then...oh.

Unfunctional product. The board surface is so slippery so couldnt make the chopping job run smoothly. I was so convinced of the smart design (categorized labels) but in the end what is the use of the choppingboard when you cant cut things easily, not even think abt chopping. I think the designer had forgotten what the basic function of a choppingboard is

I’ve been using a similar product from ProCook for a few years but it was time for a change and I’m pleased that I have switched to the Joseph Joseph ones. I really like the alternative colours, they go a lot better in a traditional kitchen. I couldn’t decide between these and the bamboo but preferred one that could go in a dishwasher in the end. There are some reviews and photos of where they have gotten some marks on them but all chopping boards get these. So far I have not gotten any significant knicks in them as seen in other reviews, and I’ve used the green one every day. I would say you would either have a very blunt knife that you are having to drive the knife through with a lot of force onto the board, or you have a very sharp knife and are pushing too hard to damage them in the way they is being reported. I also think that the damage looks worse than it is due to the bold colour of the board - you wouldn’t notice it as much on a traditional white chopping board.

While these boards have a nice holder and some good features like the non-slip feet, the fundamental reason to own them is for cutting up food, and it's that cutting surface which is the main weakness: It is very poor quality, and far too soft. This means that it is easy to cut into it deeply and create ridges and holes which make cleaning difficult and will eventually harbour waste and bacteria. I will not buy a Joseph & Joseph product again as this is the latest in a long line of form over function products that just aren't up to the job and that is simply not excusable when they are so expensive. I don't recommend - so DO NOT BUY!
