MSD5520 Street Fire Ignition Control Box, Black

Except for the smaller size of the Street Fire ignition box, it does everything that my pro comp unit did. Its very comparable to the older MSD 6 AL. I installed the new Street Fire in my 69 Bronco 1/2 cab. Works great with the MSD billet aluminum distributor. Original #'s matching 302 w/130k original miles. Bored .030 over w/Edelbrock performer plus cam, Weiand dual plane aluminum manifold, 4.56 gears, 35" tires, locker and a 5 spd. Wild Horses 5" all spring lift, dual shocks at all 4 corners. Fun little ride. Need to upgrade the steering.

Used it to replace the factory controller in our 1982 Mercedes 380SEL which had failed.After looking at OEM replacement modules, we decided to go with the MSDIt was a super easy install, and the engine runs much better than the original module. No extra parts were required, and we only needed to splice the distributor pickup wire. We also got a matching MSD coil to go with it.

元がポイント式の骨董システムに使用。実態は複数回点火のCDIっすかね。因みにセミトラも兼ねるのでポイントに流れる電流は小さくて接点の焼損は発生せず機械摩耗を気にするだけとなります。今、お手軽に買える唯一の機種かなぁ？上位機種もありますが元々はV8に使うことを想定しているので4気筒に使うには十分でしょう（と、思いたい）取説は英文だけでしたがGoogleの写真翻訳を使えば何の問題もありませんでした。火花はさすが複数回点火（この機種は低回転のみ）でもうバチバチです。（動画追加しました。本来キャブの周りでは火花厳禁ですよ🤗）多少のキャブセッティング不備はカバーしてくれるぐらいの効果はあります。後は耐久性ですかね？本体を見るに防水性は期待できないので？配線取り回しは水が伝わって中に入らないように一回下げる、熱の影響を受け辛い設置場所を選びましょう。回路に使っているであろう電解コンデンサーは有限寿命品で熱の影響を多大に受ける部品です。（アレニウスの法則と云うのがあります。ググってみて下さい）ps取り付け後の感想です。1700ccでWeber45Dcoe搭載車です。かぶって失火と言うことを考えなくなりました。だからセルを回しながらアクセルをバンバン煽ってガソリン供給して初爆させれば真冬でも始動失敗はありません。また、レブリミッターも完全に機能しており回転上昇の早い1,2速では非常にありがたいです。もうなしでは怖くて回せません（笑）
