This is a joke.
I can't believe this is an 'Amazon's Choice' item. This media might be okay for filtering air, maybe. This will not work in a pond setting, that's for sure. I use this type of media to make filters for my cats water bowl. The material I had been using before was about an even amount and density of both pink and white. It looks like the stuff I got was very sparse white and then painted pink on one side. Very poor quality. I think I'm going to return this. Over paid for what this stuff is, useless. Take a look at the photos and you'll see what I mean. You can completely see through the white and the 'pink' side is paper thin. I photographed it with the previous stuff I was using so you can compare it with a better quality. Huge difference.

This filter media I like so far because I have already hosed it down ...
This filter media I like so far because I have already hosed it down once and it held up great! The pink side seems to keep debris and particles from going back into my pond- really traps them. This is a large roll, it will last me a long time, especially since it held up well to hosing down. Once it gets too yucky, I will just cut another piece off. I am using this along with a thicker blue filter that seems to trap the larger particles pretty well.I bought this for my pond, hoping it would filter out the smaller stuff and crud. I am going to go ahead and say it, I don't know a whole lot about taking care of my pond, but I am finally starting to learn! Every summer it turns into a green mess and I have never had much luck with it other than draining and re-filling to clear the water some and then waiting for winter. I was determined this year to get it under control and keep it under control. I have turtles and fish in my pond and am not able to have plants because of this. Algae is a HUGE problem when the average daily temp is 110+. With some better filter media and a few pond products I have ordered, my pond not only has zero algae, but the water is clear enough I can see the bottom of the pond!

This catches almost all the fish bio waste and the algae by itself.
We have a 2000 gallon Koi pond and as an engineer, I have made custom filter housings and all the manifolds and valves for some years now. This filter material does 90% of my total algae filtering with the Blue Aqua-Flo material on top to catch the course materials like leaves and such. Finally I have the third level of filter is batting for the very smallest of debris. That last level of batting rarely needs cleaning because this catches almost all the fish bio waste and the algae by itself. No matter the reviews from some people, if the filter is gravity feed and not pressure forced system, this stuff provides literally 'see to the bottom' clarity and we see every pebble and baby fry we get in any light.

Traps dog hair in front load washer
I actually use the media In the gasket area of my front load washing machine. I have quite a few puppy dogs which means a lot of fur gets in my washer Even though I shake everything first. The pump clean out is on the back of the machine and a real pain to get to, so I line the inside of the gasket with this media to catch the hair before it goes in the pump. This keeps me from having to clean that pump filter from the back a whole lot less often. This works perfect for what I need! It allows the water to drain through easily but traps that hair!

Too fine, clogs too fast
I've used the blue stuff a long time now. Tried this for the first time...and the last. The blue stuff lasts a week between replacement in line with when I do my water changes and maintenance. This pink stuff clogs in 3-4 days overflowing my filter and therefore is costing twice as much. There is no change to my water clarity nor test readings so there is no justification to remember to change it twice as often. Going back to the blue stuff from another manufacturer.

It's okay
Got this for our turtle tank sump filter as one of many filter medias we use. This was just for the initial drop down to catch any large debris that may fall into the overflow. Works just fine for what I need it for it is a bit more light and airy than I expected it to be but I'm not too concerned as it does what I need it to. I will say though it's not exactly 120" as I cut mine into 12" squares and I ordered two rolls and am about 2"-2.5" shy on both. Not a huge deal but kind of bummed as now I will have a gap that large debris is able to get through. So if you're looking for exactly 120" just take note it's a little shy!

Filter media filtration is horrific
If I could give 0 star, I would’ve. After my water change, I used this filter media. A couple day later, I saw that the tank started to cloud up. A day or two later, the cloudiness gotten worse. After all the the troubleshooting, I realized this filter media is the culprit because it clogged up and unfiltered water get reintroduced back to the water column. Immediately I made a water change used new pieces from this same media. Two days later the water gotten cloudy again, this time it was a no brainer of the cause. Again, I had to go through water and filter media change to save the aquarium. I will never buy this product again or from this seller.

Great cheap DIY filter media
Great product. Used this to cover emperor 400 filter cages. Much thicker than factory media and easy to cut. Does get dirty and doesn't clean up like new, but this is a fine filter media so I wouldn't expect it to. I use a thick sponge bought here also to supplement bio area and as a pre filter on the intake. This extends the life of this floss a long time.
