The tightness of the actual "Jaws" seems to be too much on mine. It makes it so that I have to use a tool to pry them open so that I can insert an insert. And the general design of the tool means that you always have to have quite a lot sticking out of your tool post, making it less sturdy. I wish id just bit the bullet and bought a slightly more expensive Parting blade and inserts, would probably have saved me money in the long run.

I needed to replace my damaged (insert breaking took out the support) 12 x 12mm parting tool. I went for this 16 x 16mm one, as it is of more substantial construction whilst still using the same inserts. It certainly gives a better cut, especially on 'difficult' materials. Very pleased with it.
