No problems connecting to the camera and the tags work fine. Only 2 issues
Bought this for my new T6i. Works well, quick GPS lock. No problems connecting to the camera and the tags work fine.Only 2 issues. My first issue is with the remote (not why I bought it, but still it's nice when all the features of something work well... this feature doesn't.) The remote is slow to respond, and will randomly not work. It seems like it should do something if you half-press it vs. if you press it down all the way (the lights change color, but that's about it.) Sometimes it snaps a picture if you half-press, sometimes you have to press and hold for a while to get it to snap. I don't think it's trying to focus because you can't hear the motor doing anything until just before you hear the shutter go off.Issue number two is with the menu and buttons. It's hard to figure out which button actually does what. There are 4 buttons. You would think one would be a select button, etc. but that doesn't seem to be the case. The power button does indeed turn it on and off (the one predictable button). However, the other 3 buttons seem to randomly scroll back and forth between the menu options and you just have to get lucky that one of them will actually trigger a selection.Overall a good product at a much better price than the Canon GPS.

Does not work with Canon T6i.
Just got this and was super excited. It didnt last long. Maybe i got a lemon unit but it does NOT connect to my Canon t6i. I followed instructions to a dot but the camera does not recognize this GPS. It says no GPS detected when i goto that setting. Will be returning this item. Im leaving for a trip soon and counted on having a GPS.Also when i push my cable in (very slightly) it somehow presses the function keys on the otherside. My guess is its internals are lose and it presses against the inner wall when inserting the cable.

Short battery life, Flakey performance.
Flakey and unreliable. When it does work, it is fine. Unfortunately that is not all the time. The battery life is quite short and the recharge takes a while. The unit also just randomly fails to tag photos. I initially thought it might be the camera, but after trying it on a different one it is definitely the GPS unit. While it is MUCH cheaper than the Canon unit, it still over priced for the performance.

I have two of the Marrex GPS units and use them when I travel and when I fly with the Civil Air Patrol. The units work well and besides providing Latitude, longitudinal and altitude it also provides the direction the camera is facing. I use them on my Csnon 5d MkIII and my 7d. I ordered the last unit for my son to use with his Canon70d. Overall greT products. I had a problem with an earlier Marrex GPS and it was replaced with no problems.

After a week of properly work, cable began a disconnect randomly. finally, only 10 days after began using it, this unit stop to operate at all and became useless. Seems to be the data cable (which is proprietary so, cannot found a replacement) had internal connection problems and/or end connectors (which were loose after a couple of days) had problems as wellAdditionally, while it worked, battery life was short and did not last a day with a moderate usage.Really disappointed and encourage do not buy it

This unit never worked satisfactorily. It would only occasionally acquire a satellite Locke. Technical Support was lacking on the manufacturers. The seller was very helpful in returning this item.
