Q: I have a just turned 4. He wears a 4/5T would a small fit him? He is 40 pounds.

My grandson was older and larger, but as I remember I bought a size using the size chart. It was great and he has worn it two years in a row at our family's annual Oktoberfest celebration.

Q: Are the suspenders attached to the shirt? Would like to add a sweater over the shirt but under the straps for an Oaken from Frozen costume.

We used the outfit for the exact same thing! My son was an Oaken child in Frozen. The shirt is separate from the Lederhosen.
