Good quality product!
I bought two Petmate dog houses to protect the three feral cats that I feed on my uncovered porch from the elements of the New York weather. Since the rain was penetrating through the doorway, I blocked the bottom part with a 24" piece of plastic runner folded in two, which I stuck to the inside of the house with duck tape. In addition, I cut a foam placemat in two pieces and fastened the latter to the roof guard rims using sturdy bag clips. Voilà! The cats' comfortable bedding inside both houses now stays dry for the most part. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Better than wood.
Purchased this house for my fat 30lb Boston Terrier and he loves it. The house is used on a concrete slab under a patio cover so there is little moisture or sun. The house is plastic with a solid top and bottom piece that snap together. The house when assembled is heavier than it looks and very solid. You will need to place a cushion inside as the floor has no padding. I fold a few old blankets and toss them in. The biggest plus in being constructed of plastic is the ability to clean and disinfect the house. I had purchased a wood house from Amazon and could never keep it clean from spiders and other insects taking up home. I was initially unsure about the sizing but the medium size was perfect. If you're not sure about what size to get, purchase one size up. Your dog can always stretch out. Almost forgot, there are several product upc labels stuck all over the two exterior halves of the dog house. Upon removal, they left a sticky residue that is very difficult to remove. Since this dog house is for the outdoors, it wasn't such a concern.

Perfect for my 20lb Shiba Inu!
I bought this for my 20lb shiba inu, and it's perfect for her! It's very spacious so she can lie down with her legs spread out, but not so big that there's a ton of extra space left. Tall enough so she can sit comfortably in it too. The plastic it's made of is durable and because of the way the roof is designed, it's easy to wipe off any leaves, dirt, and dust that may land on it. There is an opening in the back for better air circulation (even though the opening at front is big enough), but I have absolutely no concerns of rain getting in from the ventilation holes in the back. It also comes with a few screws to screw the top to the bottom. Only problem is that the holes where you're supposed to screw in, are not holes because the manufacturer didn't punch those holes for you. You'd have to get a drill and drill the hole yourself. You can see the locations of where the holes are supposed to be though, so the plastic is thinner, and you can see a circle indent where the hole for the screws are supposed to be. I understand this product is really cheap for what you're getting, so I don't mind that they didn't drill the holes for us.

Roomy and Dry
I bought this house for a neighborhood cat. It has plenty of room for his food and his bed. The wind doesn't phase it. It is nice and dry and warm enough for him. I love it and so does Milo.

Great dog house
The house ships in two pieces nested together. The clips that hold it together were engaged on outs and it took two people to pull all four of them apart at the same time to get the pieces apart. Once that was done, it was a simple snap to get it back together correctly. Our dog loves this thing, and it seems to keep him warm and dry. We have had some pretty cold nights and several very ugly, rainy days, and he has been warm and dry inside his doghouse. We have an old sleeping bag that one of the kids donated as well as a cushion designed to reflect the dog's body heat back up to help keep him warm. That, combined with the insulation built into the house has been just fine, even on nights that dropped down below freezing.

I like it. Charlie the dog hates it
I like it. Charlie the dog hates it. The only reason he goes in it at all is to retrieve a cookie I throw in as bate or to pull out the pad. I tried taking the lid off and putting it in the shed for shelter from storms. He doesn't like the shed either. I kept thinking he'd get desperate and go it and use it - nope. Good house. Naughty dog.

Great Shelter, Worth the money!
I got this for my outside cats to stay in when it is cold outside. I put some straw in it, and that keeps the base warm. But the top part could use some more insulation. It's plastic and keeps the wind out, but not the cold so much. My husband and I will be putting some insulation into the top to help keep the heat in. It's big enough for the 3 cats I have to all get in it and sleep comfortably. Great investment. I hope to get a couple more to give some shelter to a feral colony that I care for.
