As good for adults as for children
This is great writing! It flows beautifully, the movement of the story is constant and keeps you on your toes; This is a children's book that you can't put down and I can't wait for my grand-daughter to be old enough to read it.This download is the collection of the 5 books and it is lovely not to have to finish one book then go download the next.A thank you to Suzanne Collins for appreciating that children are not the brainless and self centred puppets described in so many modern books.

Loved these books
I have recently read the hunger games books and was having withdrawal symptoms. I wanted to find something equally as good. I googled the subject and many people suggested the Overlander books. It is by the same author which gave me hope that the books would make a great read. When I first started reading them I thought 6 ft rats, huge flying bats, huge mice??? however, once you get used the characters and the way of life in the "underland" it all makes sense. These books are written for the younger reader. However, I am 45 and bought all 5 on my kindle 2 weeks ago. I am now on my 4th book and I love them. Obviously they are totally different to the Hunger Games but they are full of surprises and they are definitely holding my interest. I would definitely recommend them. Give them a chance as at first I thought what the hell have I bought here. Thoroughly enjoying my read

an epic tale for all ages
As a 40yr old, I would never have read a children's book, had it not been written by the brilliant Suzanne Collins and boy would I gave missed out. This has moralistic undertones whilst being the most magical, fantastical story. Contains scary beasts and scenes if war so not for young children who scare easily. I never did though and the 8 yr old me would have loved this book as much as the 40 yr old me.It's such a page turner it was over all too fast. I adored every syllable.

Quirky fantasy with gripping storyline
For older children or adults these books tell of a teenager's battle with himself and a fantasy world that gives animals human characteristics. Symbolic of real life dramas and moral dilemmas it is often the naivety of his baby sister who shows that prejudices against others are unnecessary and kindness can win the war. Easy to read with compelling plot and lovable characters I read all 5 books within a few days. As satisfying as the Hunger Games which I read first.

Addictive, I couldn't put it down til I finished the whole collection
I read this book so I could discuss it, share it with my 12 year old son. We both loved The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins has a way of drawing you into another world where you fall in love with the characters and care so much about what happens to them you cannot put the books down. Filled with heart breaking lessons about family devotion, friendship and compassion, survival against the odds, courage of ordinary self doubting people, relationships between people and creatures of all sorts and most of all hope. Recommended to all.

My new favourite author!
After reading, and loving, the Hunger Games trilogy I decided to try the Overlander series, and I am so glad I did. Suzanne Collins creates the most amazing and convincing characters, each one unique, and who stay in your mind after reading about them. The books have action, humour, compassion, and I would recommend them to any reader, be they "Young Adult" or not.

So good I bought the set!
Loved the first one I came back for the set! Yes I know, now I have two books plus the rest. Well to me it was worth every penny and I will be keeping them on my Kindle and may even buy hard copies for my grandchildren. Yes, I am not a child but a Nan. But these books and stories take you into another world - utterly brilliant!

fantastic series
An amazing series of books. They totally blew me away. They're exciting and interesting, great for kids, but have an amazing darkness and depth as well. As with the hunger games trilogy, this series left me thinking over the events of the book for a long time afterwards
