ALWAYS trust Tripp-Lite
I have used so many of their products. I have actually had to make a claim and it was so easy to do. They stuck by their warranty and even sent a new power strip (not this particular one). If you’re worried about your devices being protected, ALWAYS trust Tripp-Lite!!

Robust power strip
I bought two of these as part of my standing desk setup. I needed long cords so that the desk could raise and lower without dramatically ripping the power strip out of my desk, or the chord out of the wall.I chose to buy this model over others because after working around IT data centers for many years, I came to understand that there is a reason for more expensive electrical components, and that Eaton is a trusted brand in the commercial space. The power strip is noticeably more robust that many others, and is U.L. listed, meaning that it has been tested by an independent lab against a set of safety standards.Experience tells me that some cheaper power components use thinner conductors inside, and generally cheaper construction. If I have to pay an extra several bucks for this, it is very much worth it for me.

Good, Solid Surge Protector From Well-Known Company
This surge protector does exactly what it is supposed to do. The on-off switch feels solid. The long cord is thick, and seems pretty heavy-duty. It's just a good, basic, solid surge protector, made by a good company. There are definitely cheaper, no-name brand surge protectors available, but how often do you buy these things? I figured I may as well spend a few extra dollars and go with a quality company and get a quality product. If for some reason this surge protector stops working, or some of the outlets do, (as happened with the protector this one is replacing,) I will come back and update this review, but I honestly don't believe that will happen with a Tripp Lite product.[...]. On the other hand, if you did not find this review helpful, I’d be interested in hearing why, so that I can attempt to edit it and make it more helpful to both you and others. If you leave a comment on the review, suggesting how it would be more helpful, I promise to respond to your comment, and to attempt to incorporate your suggestion in my review, if it is at all possible for me to do so. My goal is to write reviews that help people, as I have been helped by the reviews others have written. Thanks!

BEST Surge Protector
Bought this based on so many rave reviews. I agree -- really great product. Nice long, thick cord and has 7 outlets, so I can plug in a lamp and all the "doodads" from my power recliner (power pack, remote, etc.) with ease. Slimline design makes it look nice, not bulky. Will DEFINITELY buy Tripp surge protectors from now on --- worth the money --- a great product !!!

One of two pieces survived for 8 months.
I pick up two units of the 12' 7-outlet # TLP712 at once.On one, the power switch has a "looser" feel than the other. It seems to work alright. The loose-switch goes right onto a desk to power PC, monitors, chargers. The firm-switch goes right under a table to power audio/video equipment.Eight months later, I move the desk and plug in the loose-switch again, but it suddenly has a poor connection. While in the "on" position the unit can be jiggled or the switch poked with the effect of breaking or closing the connection.Effectively this makes the unit unusable, as a careless jiggle to the desk might cut off power to all devices on the desk. The loose-switch unit has only been toggled 5-30 times in these eight months, as I am not in the practice of turning it off daily. I don't believe it has been dropped or mishandled since it arrived here. The other unit seems fine so far. These feel very sturdy but it seems the whole thing failed because of a little switch.Honestly I'll keep getting power strips from Tripp Lite, but I won't request an RMA or contact Tripp Lite at all here, because I cannot pay $10-20 USD for a chance at a $20 USD-value replacement unit.It seems I was very unlucky as their ratings are so high.

Good value for the appropriate application
I needed a surge protector/outlet for some non-critical electronic/electrical equipment. It seems sturdy enough, the switch functioning is crisp and I liked the long power cable. That being said, the 1080 Joule rating is adequate for my application; however I would not put any high-value electronics on this suppressor. I have the Triplite 8 socket Isobar model for that. At 3840 Joules and a 12 amps CB plus filtering, I feel that Isobar model is a better fit for my specific high value equipment. Bottom line - not all surge suppressors are created equal. It is incumbent upon the buyer to match capability to requirements; doing so will lessen the chance of a mismatch and disappointment later on.

Second Tripp Lite for my living room...
This is the second Tripp Lite I've bought for my living room. The first one only has a 6ft cord, so that's got the TV-related stuff plugged into it. But I needed a second surge protector that could reach to the outlet-less corner of the room where I set up my desk (and would like to set up my desktop computer, as well as having the option of plugging in my laptop and letting my partner plug in his laptop, as well). So far, it's great. My only complaint (and this will resolve itself in time) is that the cord is holding the shape it had in the box, all wound up, so when I stretch it across the room, it "zig-zags", rather than allowing me to use the full length of the cord. Given that 6 feet was just a touch too short to reach this part of the room, it's not a big issue in terms of reaching the right area, just in terms of making sure no one trips over the cord on their way across the room.I haven't had any problem with my other Tripp Lite strip (6 outlets, 6ft cord, also white), and I don't expect to experience any problems with this one, either. Great products, great company.

Pleased with this purchase
The extra long cord was the deciding factor for me getting this unit. Found it to be solidly built when it arrived, and has worded well. Pleased with this purchase.

Very Convenient
Great product. Bought it for an older apartment with only one wall outlet in a room being used as an office. Ended up using this when we blew a fuse and our neighbors were away. Super convenient.
