This is the bayonet mount to get
I had previously bought this:"PhotoTrust Bayonet Mount Ring Compatible with Nikon 18-55 18-105 55-200mm Lens" but that was extremely poor quality so as not to be compatible with a Nikon 18-55mm lens.The bayonet ring in this review, however, fits the lens perfectly. The plastic quality is not quite Nikon but it's good enough and the ring fits. The lens is back in action. Recommended.

Replaces a broken bayonet
Fits the lens perfectly. Not an easy install - make sure you have a JIS standard screwdriver, not a U.S. Philips standard. The installation requires some disassembly of the lens. Find the YouTube video and watch it several times.

Quality can be better
The quality of the part can be better.When initially installed, the shutter mechanism was struggling to overcome the friction caused by this part. I had to look closely and file off anything that was left behind by molding process. Once that is done, the shutter was operational again.Hart to tell how it will hold up. The plastic may be different from original part. Not as smooth for sure.
