The Art of Rube Goldberg: (A) Inventive (B) Cartoon (C) Genius

You will not be disappointed. So many interesting notes, facts, etc. The quality of the book itself (construction and materials) is worth noting. Its a really heavy, well build, strong book. I don't know how to describe it but when you hold it you feel like your holding something substantial (and therefore you feel more important haha)

I was hoping this would be just a collection of the old comics, readable and in detail - and less of a discussion with smaller hard to see cartoons. I'll keep looking for something that's more just the cartoons / collection rather than people talking about it.

This was offered as new but with large dents on top, acceptable. The so called dents onto of the cover were so small you couldn't really even see them. It was NEW, thank you very much for such a deal.$40 off the original price of $60 which everyone sells it for.

When we were little, our newspapers often carried the Rube Goldberg cartoons. As a kid I didn't always understand what was supposed to be going on, and the quality of newsprint back then was such that not all the text and drawings were completely readable. So we are doubly pleased to finally see these great imaginings in their full glory! Rube Goldberg had a VERY uncommon mind indeed!

I grew up obsessed with my Uncle Roy's Rube Goldberg books, so when I heard about this collection I jumped at the chance to get a copy for my artistic God Daughter. At first I wasn't sure what she thought of it, but soon she was reading the captions and figuring out how the inventions worked. Glad to pass the torch!

This creative genius will be long remembered. The volume is impressive in scope and detail. Love the actual Rube Goldberg machine framed by the front cover!

After hearing the author interviewed on NPR, I had to have the book.It had just been released and Amazon had it in stock.I received it right away at a very good price.The book is filled with fascinating stories and many of the award winning artist's unique works.The front of the book has an actual working model of one of his bizarre machines.I've never seen anything like it!The volume rates a place of honor on a gadget-strewn coffee table.

Rube Goldberg's drawings and stories are a gold mine for all people who appreciate humor and rare creativity.Odd that Goldberg's picture treasure has fallen into oblivion in our time, because it deserves all the attention in our high-speed society where superficiality reigns.This book is pure joy. Mr Goran Tivenius, Sweden.

This book is marvellous. I wanted to learn more about the artist - because I knew only the word "rube goldberg" and it showed me so much more.It is readable, very well illustrated, and sold at a reasonable price - so that people like me would take a chance on it. I have purchased two as gifts.The cover with its small workable example is terrific. Anyone who likes quirky things and/or is interested in what the human imagination can do will like this book a lot in my opinion.
