The combination of original HS with Pawmark upgrade made this one of the best prong collars
Initially, after reading and watching YouTube videos on prong collars, I bought a 2.25 at a pet shop near me. I tried it on my self to make sure I am not harming my 70 p 7 months old Lab. It was hard and not easy to place and remove the collar so I decided to shop for one with an easy opening and found this one. One I got this I realized few things. First pawmark has done an amazing job and makes this prong collar easy to place and remove with a very elegant and secure buckle. In addition by buying this collar you assure you get the original Herm Sprenger collar which is so different from the other one I have. Both are 2.25 mm but totally different, the HS is much softer on the skin with rounded edges compared to the cut straight edge of the cheap one and they are not the same size at all. The original HS is slightly shorter and narrower and the prongs that pinch the skin are in a different angle and less prominent when placed on the dog. My dog seems to be happier with this collar and if feels much easier to rotate it to the position I need but this could be due to small differences in circumference. I added photos with the Pawmark on the left. For my dog with 16.5 inch neck circumference I needed another link which I bough directly from Pawmark to assure I get the same original HS link. Last thing, the links of HS 2.25 mm is easier/softer so not sure that everyone would need the easy release buckle on Pawmark for the 2.25mm but I would, especially when I think that kids/long nails do need to use it. Last but not least, Pawmark was very acceptable when I needed their help.

Fit size recommended in question and answers
I purchased the small size based on the question and answers thread that stated " I noticed the med is 24". so do i need a small for my gsd who has an 18" neck? it doesn't seem like there are many prongs to remove. Answer: You should be fine with the 2.25" (small). My Shepherd has a 19" neck and it fits out of the box. You *may* have to remove one link but not likely. By Brian B on March 22, 2019"My German Shepherd has an 18" neck and this collar was too small for him. Out of the box it was digging into his neck with absolutely no play to allow a correcting tap with a leash. I have used Sprenger collars on my shepherds for over 20 years. I know how to properly fit and use the collars. The fit was also confirmed by my dog trainer who had suggested the Pawmark product. I ended up purchasing two additional prongs separately. The design is great, makes it much easier to put the collar on the dog if you have arthritic fingers. The shipping time was good. My only criticism is I would suggest the comments by Brian B regarding fit may not be entirely accurate.

He's like a totally different, much calmer dog!
We have a wonderful but very reactive 75 pound Aussie Shepherd. We adopted him from a farm, he's a retired cattle dog, so he never went on walks as a young pup and hardly met any dogs or strangers. As a result, he is AGGRESSIVE on walks! He'll chase darn near anything, and he's big and athletic, so he can really tug!We got this to help with the tugging, at our trainers recommendation. It really works wonders! The prongs though, are kind of brutal. I'd recommend having your trainer confirm the size you get and help you adjust the collar to fit. I wouldn't feel safe doing that part myself. All told, it is a fantastic addition to our little guy's walking kit. He does much better with it on, and he seems much happier as a result - I am too, because I'm not scared of him tugging me down the street!

Months of use, still going strong
I have a little 35-lb boxer / pit mix who doesn't understand corrections on a flat collar. I've used traditional Sprenger's in the past and thought this would be nice since it's a little difficult sometimes to pinch the sections together in order to make the connection. The clasp takes a lot of effort out of it and it works just as well!Prong collars work amazingly well for stubborn dogs that love to pull. You just need to be careful using them because it can turn into a tool of abuse quickly. Always make sure the prong collar is up near their jawline, high up on the neck. Only use it for walks, or anytime your dog is on a leash. Don't pull with all your might, a couple quick tugs should be an effective correction when using this! One of the best purchases I've made and a great tool for any responsible dog owner that has a pup that's just a little too stubborn on a leash.

The collar just arrived and I like the idea of the snap buckle I was not expecting the buckle to be weak plastic. It is a good concept and hopefully will not fall apart at the weak point. The manufacturer should use a strong metal buckle. I will use a large d ring connected to her regular collar in case. I made the mistake of using a prong collar from a chain store for her first prong collar last week. On our first walk it held when she lunged at a rabbit but when she spooked at a lawnmower the cheap prong slipped out opening the collar and she ran half way down a city block before her novice training got over her panic and she came when called. Definitely learned not to have leash only connected to the prong collar.

Great collar
I really like this collar. Mainly got it for the ease of putting on/removing. I like that it is a genuine Herm Sprenger. The way they attached the clasp - you still have the benefit of the pinch collar working how it’s supposed to. I got the small for my 50 pound 9 month old Airedale Terrier. I have been taught that the smaller links are actually better and I tend to agree that it works better at least on my sized dog. I always use a back up safety clip which is attached to her regular flat collar in case it were to open. I also reinforced the links so they were less likely to slip open. Delivery was very timely, and although I’ve only had it a few weeks, so far so good.
