My first kit arrived with half the stones broken. I was sent a second kit from the seller. All stones were good and I was happy. Upon setting the sharpener up for the first time and using it, I noticed the blade was being sharpened off center. That is, to look at the edge it looked as though one side was sharpening at a different angle than the other. I took out my handy dandy angle finder and found a 6° difference from one side to the other. No bueno. After inspecting the clamp design a bit, I determined there's no easy way for a clamp like this to keep the blade perfectly centered for equal sharpening on each side. Bummer but I guess I shouldn't ask much from a sharpener in this price range. Don't purchase this if an off centered edge will drive you insane like it does me.

This review started off as negative. The sharpener is great and works very well, also it is very easy to use. Unfortunately it came with some broken sharpening stones which was disappointing. The customer service with this company is top notch though. They contacted me and asked how they could make it right. I quickly received replacement sharpening stones and would highly recommend this sharpener and this company. Will will definitely look for them in the future when making purchases as they stand behind their products and the customer service was top notch in day when Bethany can be very tough to find!!!

Once assembled (which isn’t difficult) you’ll need to download an angle finder for your phone — You will also need to know the angle of the blades you are sharpening-different types of knives have different angles- my pocket knife is 17 and my kitchen knives are 25 so my angles are 83 and 75 respectivelyIt does a good job of taking a knife that has an edge to a good sharp edgeI would recommend taking an older knife to learn

I am a sharp knife nut. A dull knife is far more dangerous than a sharp one and I have free hand stone sharpened my knives for years. I thought I'd give this a shot as I wanted to change the angle on some of my kitchen knives. This thing is a breaze to use. Take your time and use the grits appropriately. I go by the rule of every stone grit change results in a 2X in the amount of time I use it. Result is incredibly sharp knives. If you have knives that have seen better days, you won't go wrong with this to help get them back on track.

Broken on arrival, returned and got a replacement and it had broken stones, the stones that were not broken wore down first time used and still no refund weeks after returning the second one. HORRIBLE QUALITY IM PISSED!
