I bought this and cleaner tablets and now use both with great results. My only complaint is how long it takes to dissolve the tablets in hot water prior to using it. I admit I am guessing this is necessary as I can't imagine it dissolving in the units I have during a cleaning or descaling cycle. But the gunk comes out, the units work great (I have 3 and have used them on all), and because the cost is now reasonable I am keeping up with the maintenance.

Works well - my only observation is that the tablets are very hard and take a ling time to dissolve. My machine requires you to dissolve the tablets before putting in the machine and these tablets take a long time - particularly in cold water. I break up the tablets and place in hot water, reheating in the microwave as necessary.

These tablets are not suitable for all coffee machines as they take 1-2 hours to dissolve.on the upside: they have excellent customer support.I have a Miele espresso machine, and for descaling, I initially used Miele descaling tablets, but then switched to a generic brand on Amazon. At the end of July, I couldn’t get my usual brand, so I bought IMPRESA [20 Pack] Espresso Machine Descaler Tablets.I just used them for the first time, and after following the manufacturer’s instructions, as I have done for almost 20 years, I noticed at the end of the cycle that the descaling tablets had barely dissolved.I contacted their customer support, and they replied “It might take 1 - 2 hours to dissolve. I'd suggest putting the tablets in a cup of hot water to dissolve first, stirring the contents, and then pouring the solution into the machine.”The Miele asks you to add the tablets to the reservoir with lukewarm water, and waits about 15 minutes for them to dissolve before running the descaling program. That is not a problem with the original Miele tablets or the Essential Values ones.

This is a good value but the tablets take hours to dissolve. Descaling your coffee maker shouldn’t be an hour long process. Switched to liquid descaler.

Annoyingly does not dissolve - no matter how hot or how much water you use soooo I figured out a trick: use a wooden mallet to smash and crush it before adding to a little boiling water then once dissolved, add rest of water amount needed. I won’t buy again bc annoying extra step but this is the best way to use if you’ve already purchased.

I love this product. I use it monthly to descale my stainless steel stove top 6-cup espresso pot. Maintains the original taste of my espresso coffee. Recommended.
