Deep and Dark and Dangerous: A Ghost Story

I've read a lot of her books and I absolutely love this one. Her descriptions and intense scenes are excellent.

He finished it in 3 days and I had to tell him to stop reading and go to bed.

Another chilling middle grade scary story by master storyteller Mary Downing Hahn. Like Wait Till Helen Comes, All the Lovely Bad Ones, Took, and more, readers will be on the edge of their seats with spines tingling even AFTER they turn that last page. Hahn uses suspense and excellent imagery to convey the horror of a dead girl haunting the daughter of her childhood friend and does not have to resort to blood, gore, or other shock and awe strategies that less skilled authors must use. Highly recommended to those in grades 4-8 with no reservations for language, sexual content, or extreme violence.

Wanted to re-read this and it’s just as good as I remember. Nostalgic.
