I recommend checking the hoodman usa hoodeye compatibility chart which definitively tells you which hoodeye eyepiece fits which camera, if in any doubt.In use the eyepiece really helps to get the best view possible of the image to be.So long as you buy the correct size Hoodman eyepieces are well designed so they do not accidentally fall off in the field (I tried another brand and on day 1 of my trek in Nepal it fell off and was lost).Downsides include : more space needed in camera bag, part of screen obscured (but can rotate the rubber quite easily or push it out of the way or look underneath it).For me the benefit is well worth it but probably would not be for a camera with a tilting screen (eg. Canon 70D) where you may need to remove the eyepiece to tilt the screen.

The problem with my Canon EOS 5D mk II is that you can't see the data at the bottom of the viewfinder when in sunlight, and all the worse for spectacle wearers. The eyecup helps a bit, but does not cure the problem. Canon should make the information much brighter

Great little piece of kit this, stops strong side light from interfering with vision when looking though viewfinder. I've even used it wearing glasses and still works. Easy to put on and take off and easy to clean. Great bit of kit.

2 stars. The product didn't fit my view-finder on 5D mk II. I was able to fix the problem by making the inner part wider using a sharp object to rub some layers of plastic off it.Anyhow, the plastic is really fragile and tends to brake if you're not careful doing it.

Really good for spectacle wearers, highly recommend.
