Absolutely, this purchase was made specifically for my American pitbull terriers, I use them with both conditioning my pups and my adults who show competitively. That is exactly what I use them for!! They crave it and it really does a fantastic job in allowing mine to develop tracking skills, agility, and just a great positive form of entertainment/exercise. I simply cut a strip of leather/hyde and pierced one end allowing a place to draw the "whip" end through, securing with a nice double knot..ta-da!!! Or, if you are working with pups, find a nice softer pup/kitten toy to tie at the end, something light in weight that can easily be " flirted" across the ground to help them gain some serious coordination in no time!!! Trust me, my dogs are high drive workers and crave these "flirtpoles"!!! Best purchase ever, cheaper than tractor supply in my local town!! Have fun, they'll be hooke
