Kingpin's Foxglove (The Tarkhanov Empire Book 1)

Read it in one day. Is it January 22 yet??Background: The Rochetti Dynasty were some of my favorite books this year. I saw the title and the cover and took a chance on a new author. Best decision I’ve made all year.We were introduced to Elena and Konstantin in the Rochetti trilogy but I had no idea how wild their ride was going to be! I didn’t know if I wanted to laugh, cry, throat punch a character and hug another one two pages later. There was never a dull moment. Lots of mystery, intrigue and a beautiful love story. I might not have agreed with some of Elena’s decisions but I respected her for her strength and courage. Now January 22 needs to hurry up because I NEED NEED NEED to know what’s going to happen next.

I was an hundred percent into the rocchetti but I think this one just ate me, and I ate it too.Elena is truly my second favorite femal character after our Chicago queen. I don’t know what to tell you more because she deserve to be read and she’ll be our next royalty. I can’t wait anymore I need the second book.Mister Konstantin I really can’t wait to see his ruthless side, this man will make you fall for him, you’ll certainly don’t know how you’ve read a book in a day.

I have no words! I was so hooked from the first page 🤩. Bree Porter really went above and beyond for this book it’s so different from your average mafia and trope, I’ve always been a sucker for a good mafia romance but at one point the same plot starts to get boring and this book really changes that.The hero Konstantin is freakin swoon worthy, he’s definitely my new book boyfriend. He was sweet yet cunning, she showed his caring and loving side to only his family.The heroin was such a breath of fresh air, she wasn’t perfect like they always portray the girls to be. She was unempathetic and only looked out for herself which makes sense when you hear about how she grew up. A lot of people found that upsetting but I personally thought it added more character. She was also wicked smart and cunning.The other thing that I loved was the little family Konstantin had, they’ve all been through so much together and are so fiercely loyal to each other that my heart melted at their interactions.This book was definitely worth the read one the best books I’ve read in 2020 without a doubt.P.S book ends on a cliffhanger none of y’all are ready for.

This was an awesome book very well written and had lots of suspense, action,drama and lots of love the characters were absolutely amazing. Can't wait for the next in series.Thank you so much for this awesome read

I think I really like kon! He’s so smooth cool and yet can be the mean. I loved Elena she is an unusual but loving in her on way. They make a great couple. Though I’m royally pissed that she left the man she loved!! And Tatiana should have been killed when they had the chance! Now I have to wait months to find happy ever after for Elena and kon.😢great book.

I love the relationship between Kon and Elena! She doesn't take no one's crap and Kon OMG!!! bad ass story line! Looking forward to the next book. 💜💜💜

I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the sequel! Kon and Elena make a great match.

Kingpin's Foxglove it's the first book in The Tarkhanov Empire series and the first part of Elena and Konstantin story.I almost can't express in words how much I loved this tale!After the events in The Rocchetti Dynasty trilogy, it's time for the world of New York mafia/bratva featuring Elena Falcone and Konstantin Tarkhanov. Not one for spoillers, I'm just going to say that this is a very well concocted story of leadership, trust, loyalty, deceit and most of all love and protection. I loved everything about this book: Konstantin's 'family' dynamics, his deep interest in Elena from a long time ago, the oppotunities he didn't miss as a young as well as an adult, his cunningness but patience too, their slow burn of a romance, but always so felt. Elena and Konstantin are 🔥🔥🔥 together! I also loved all the secondary characters: they were very well placed in the plot, their interactions valuable and done with precision. This is a very complete book, although it's not a complete story: everything fits graciously and porpotionally in its time and space and we get to laugh too, what's always very refreshing. A magnificent executed installment done with poignancy and finesse! I can't wait for the battle that will ensue!Congratulations to Bree Porter for this wonderful work, she has really outdone herself!

Let me preface this by saying this is my favourite read of 2020 and that means A LOT. During lockdown and the months afterwards I have read well over 100 books, slowly but surely nearing the 200 mark. A lot of them, if not all, were mafia romances.Elena is a heroine unlike any other one I have read before. I’ve read smart and intelligent and feisty heroines but Elena’s qualities- her cunning, intelligence and quiet demeanour- are often more valued in a man.I found that incredibly refreshing, the roles being a little switched in this book.Konstantin was very candid with his infatuation and Elena was... not. Ish.Kingpin‘s Foxglove is a beautiful written story with a mystery/thriller aspect that just spoke to me. Bree Porter writes with an effortless force that is colourful and poignant; her words do not leave you after you finished the book.12263673383/5 Stars.I was provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is one wild ride! I found this book under KU and am I glad I read the sample. I fact after reading halfway, I just went ahead and brought it despite the next part is yet to be published. I broke my cardinal rule not to buy any book which hasn't got its complete series available to read. Please Miss Porter, don't take took long to release the next installment!

Another amazing read I can never put books down that bree porter has written only downside is it says next book released 22 January and we are now in March but no book 😭

This book is a unicorn. Bree Porter is a unicorn.All the feels, all the strong female characters, all the jealous possessive Hs. I appreciate it when an author can write in the voice of multiple characters and make them believable.I am so glad i took up the Bloody Bride upon friends' recommendations and kept going!!!!
