ApePal 5-Layer Disposable KN95 Face Masks Wide Elastic Ear Loops Safety Face Mask,Grey,10 PCS/Pack

I was eager to give these KN-95 masks a try. The product description said they contain 5 layers. This is a pack of 10 individually wrapped, single-use KN-95 masks. They provide extra space in the front to ensure both plenty of breathing space and that your mouth does not touch the front of the mask.What did I find when I dissected this mask?This KN-95 mask is constructed of 5 layers of material. As can be seen in my photos, I dissected one mask according to its layers and also removed the nose piece. The product description states that there are two layers of meltblown material in this mask. That is the highest filtration layer. I only found one meltblown layer in this mask. (1) The outer (first) layer is the initial filtration layer of protection, which helps to protect you from the outside environment. It is spunbond polypropylene. I put a few drops of water on that outer layer. The water did not leak through, so the outer layer is fluid resistant, which you want to help protect you from exposure to droplets and airborne particles. (2 & 3) The second layer and third layers of this mask are identical. They are cotton cellulose. While cotton cellulose is somewhat electrostatic and may help some with filtration, it is not fluid resistant. I put drops of water on both of these layers. As can be seen in my photos, the water soaked through both layers. (4) The fourth layer is the meltblown layer. It is the highest filtration layer. As can be seen in my photo, water did not soak through that layer. The fourth layer is fluid resistant. (5) The fifth layer is the inner layer that is up against your face. It is your last layer of protection and is usually soft and non-irritating to the face. It is spunbond polypropylene. Water drops on this layer did not go through, so the fifth layer is fluid resistant as expected.The nose wire in this mask is 3" long and allows you to mold the nose section securely around your nose. The nose wire appears white in the photo, but it is actually two separate wires inside that are connected together with white plastic on the outside. This mask has a center seam that allows the mask to curve outward and not be right up against your face. This gives you additional breathing and talking space. The ear loops are very soft, wider than normal, very stretchy, and also longer than many earloops.Filtration:This mask claims to provide 95% filtration. I cannot verify that. This mask is imported and does not reveal that it has FDA approval or emergency use authorization.Recommendations and Rating:This mask is lightweight and feels comfortable on. It comes to a point above the nose area and just below the chin area. I like that this mask is a little smaller than some others I have worn, so it is not hanging loose way below my chin line. The mask has a bit of a plastic smell when first removed from its plastic bag. That seems to go away in a few minutes. Maybe just unfold it and leave it out for 10 minutes before wearing it. Based on the quality of the layers of filter, I would recommend this mask to others. It is well made. I would give this mask a 4 star rating only because I found the layers to be slightly different from the product description.

Good fit. BUT --- for having 5 layers and all the advertised protection. How does THAT work if I can SEE THROUGH IT via the Logo and sticking that is near mouth nose? I really would like to know -- as they seem comfortable. BUT!!!!! If I hear back from question to manufacture, I will change rating. BUT--to see through parts of it?????? Yikes!

This product is extremely dangerous. There are holes large enough for an ink pen tip to get through. There are also smaller holes throughout the mask. This would not keep the virus from infiltrating. Please be ware so that something catastrophic doesn’t happen wearing this poorly designed mask.

I received my KN95 mask ( BLACK ) that I have been wanting to order for a while. It’s fits snug and you can breath well. You don’t feel suffocated, easy breathing. A lot better than a surgical mask.

this is one of the FDA approved masks. Arrived the day after ordering. Very comfortable, conforms to face with good seal. I would still wear another mask on top for extra protection esp. with the appearance of variant COVID strains

These are totally useless to me. I'll give them to someone else. They run VERY small, they fit my 10 year old daughter pretty well though. On me (average adult male), the ear straps are really tight and pull my ears forward. The mask itself covers my nose but barely gets to the chin and slips off easy because it is soooooo small. This seems like a kids size. Steer clear if you are an adult. Additionally, what I received from ApePal store is not what I ordered, it looks different than what is shown on the mask and even the packaging/brand is different. Of course it can't be returned, as they are masks, so they can be tossed out or given away. Steer clear of this seller.

I ordered these several months ago. The are great quality, comfortable, and I’ve washed them. After I washed them, the strap came loose but the quality is so good I stitched it back and it was like new again. I’ve only washed one time but there’s no telling how long they could last. I’m ordering more because I’ve given so many away to family. Great mask and easy to double if you’re in a high risk area. Absolutely no problems breathing and no funny smell. Fit good to face. Not cheapos. Just bought my second pack. Also, they come in larger sealed pack but are individually wrapped. You won’t have regrets about buying these.

I wanted N95 to have the best available. I also wanted a mask that wouldn't collapse-or act as a bellows as I breathed. I was used to double layer pleated cloth masks that are easy to speak with as those masks will move with you as you speak and you do not have to constantly pull them back up while speaking. That is the drawback to these masks, you must continually pull them up while speaking.
