I work in both MacOS and Windows environments, and the dock performs well for each. It was a bit more challenging to set up the Mac (extra downloads), but all I did for the Windows laptop was plug it into the USB-C port and the display mirrored right away.

Like many I learned the M1 chip on the new MacBook Pro 13" only supports 1 monitor. To rectify this I found articles that solved this by using a docking station. Many of the reviews recommended the Kensington SD4900P.The price is high but offers many other features which I love.I have a 3 monitor setup and this solved my issues. Highly recommend if you want something that is high quality and works as expected.You could buy something less expensive (I did the first time) and find that it won't work for your setup (which is why I ended up returning my first option and then bought this).It works, built well, great quality....buy it now or try another brand but you'll end up right back here.

Kensington SD2000P USB-C works well for me with a Dell XPS 13 (9300) and Linux (5.10).I chose this model for the small size, so I could attaching it to a lap desk to have power and external disk though one usb-c cable. This works well, though the unit does get noticeably warm even when the laptop battery is not charging.

I am running two QHD and a 1080p monitors through the HDMI ports on this dock. I’m also using the USB ports and SD reader. Love this dock. Make sure to download the two apps from Kensington to make sure everything works. Monitors didn’t work until I loaded them. I’m running windows 10 Home on an MSI GE76.
