There are several secrets that no one seems to tell young people about what happens to your body when you age. One of those secrets is that the texture of your hair changes over time....in fact, several times. I used to be able to get my hair to do pretty much whatever I wanted. But once it turned gray (early--beginning in my 30's; completely gray by mid-late 40's), the texture changed from coarse (and even easier to style) to super-fine and thin. So I have had a difficult time finding just the right product for whatever texture, thickness, and body my hair happens to be this week/month/year. For now (and for the foreseeable future), it is super fine and quite thin and this product works WONDERS on it. It doesn't take much--less than a dime-sized splotch in my palm--and I combine it with another splotch of gel or mouse for volume. I have tried dozens of products over the last decade and many of them still live in a partially-used bottle in my medicine cabinet. But thanks to Redken, I think I have found the holy grail....or at least until I have some other unexpected hair change!

This is an amazing product! As promised, it makes my hair look thicker and shinier. I also love that, when I straighten my curly hair, it makes it straighten more easily, and my hair holds all day (with mousse and a light spritz of hair spray.) On day two, it just needs a little bit more with the flat iron, and again, another great hair day! Previously, I could never get my hair completely straight on Day 1 (always had a few stubborn waves underneath) and Day 2 was even worse.When I want to wear my hair naturally curly, I put this in my hair after I shower in the evening, apply this lotion using the "praying hands" method, and let my hair dry. In the morning, I dampen it a bit with a spray bottle, scrunch it a bit, and head out the door. The curls have never looked better! And day two, the curls look even better still without even scrunching.I really can't believe what a difference this product has made for how my hair looks. I'm glad I listened to the reviewers here on Amazon!

Received quickly and packaged well. Tried this at the salon and liked the effect. Couldn't find it in stores, so I ordered it on Amazon. At home, I used it and was just as successful. My hair has always been fine and barely holds a curl. However, as I age, my hair has also thinned and it tends to flatten. This product really thickens the hair without making it stiff. Shampoo, condition, towel off, then apply and blow dry with curling brush. Looks much better! It stays on the hair until the next washing, so day #2 looks good, too! My hair (a short cut) takes well to Redken, and this product is no exception. A keeper!

I have fine long but a lot of hair! I can use Garnett mouse, and Rusk thick spray all to much success. But I went with the reviews on here and a nickel size amount and my hair was sticking together and crispy in spots. It was not for my hair! :( I tied it for a while but then threw it away!! If you put a bit on your hand your hands will stick together like gum.... for at least 15 minutes, and when dry... still stick a bit.Use a product that is not as tacky. This weighed my hair down!

I have been using this product for many years. I have very thin hair and this product really help make it appear quite a bit thicker. I apply to wet hair and then blow dry. It is a bit sticky when wet but dries nicely and does not leave the hair sticky or greasy.

My hairstylist used this in my hair at my last visit and highly recommended it. I had been using Tigi Catwalk's Your Highness Thickening Lotion prior to trying this. I have to say, my hairstylist was right! This stuff works and does add thickness and volume to your hair without causing buildup or stickiness. I use a nickel sized amount on my shoulder length hair and then blow dry it. If I really want to increase the volume with my curling brush, I spray the roots with Redken's Guts 10 (also recommended by my stylist) and then blowdry. THis combination seems to work the best of anything I've tried for my fine hair. I then finish it off with a spritz in the air surrounding my hair of Paul Mitchell's Shine Spray and it looks so glossy and healthy. I prefer to wear my hair without hairspray since I OD'd on Aqua Net in the 80's and 90's. So this combination seems to give me the fullness, body, volume, and hold I am looking for while appearing natural.

This thickening lotion is simply amazing! It actually makes my thinning, fine, short hair look thicker without weighing it down or making it look greasy. Instead it makes my hair look shiny, fuller, and soft. I've tried every thickening and densifying hair product on the planet (slight exaggeration) and this one is the absolute best. Phytodensium and Kerastace were the best body building products I'd found prior to trying this one. I hope they never stop making this Redken product! I take a dime-sized dollop of it and rub it between my hands. They I apply it to my hair evenly and blow dry. The next AM I just make my hair damp and then blow dry - I don't need to add any additional product. It looks just a great as it looked the day before. Redken Thickening Lotion, where have you been all my life?

I've been using this stuff for probably six years. No matter what I try, I always come back to it. I have a long bob now, but used it with much longer and much shorter cuts through the years. I apply a blob the size of 2 peanut M&Ms to wet hair after spraying in leave-in conditioner and before blow-drying. It basically adds some heft to my fine hair. And it does so without weighing it down or leaving the feeling of product on my hair. I have not found a si gle other product that can accomplish these two things simultaneously. It basically does exactly what it says it will, the price is good, and I have zero complaints.

Good and it works! hair was much improved from its fine flimsy locks to more enhanced stronger locks. Yes...definately impressed.

Good product nice smell only need a small amount otherwise too sticky

The product is great on my very thin, fine hair but does cause a build up if I use it too often leaving it lank and greasy looking. Works for me every other wash
